Clean Friendly Basic Hotel

Would recommend Wed, Nov 19, 2014
Very friendly staff at this casual hotel. Expect to leave your key at the front desk when you go out. Room was typical small size for Europe. Very clean and quiet. Safe location, next to the Metro. Cafes, patisseries, Starbucks all in area.

Great location in Paris

Would recommend Thu, Sep 11, 2014
Small quaint hotel with very helpful staff, very close to Metro and to a great dining/bar area ( Rue Mouffetard). room was small but clean.

Dining

Chez Nicos had amazing creeps, and the Pattisserie near the square on Rue Mouffetard was our morning breakfast stop, inexpensive and delicious pastries.

Wonderful honeymoon

Would recommend Mon, Sep 8, 2014
Hotel St. Christophe is a dream - perfect Left Bank neighborhood, fabulous staff, cute rooms with great views, and great value for money. 20 minute walk to Notre Dame, 15 minute walk to Bld Saint Germain, 10 minute walk to Jardins de Luxembourg, 5 minute walk to Rue Mouffetard (Paris' oldest), and oh so close to great bakeries, cute shops, with a FABULUOUS wine shop nearly across the street (Vin et Whisky). Right along a very convenient and busy metro line 7. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. J'adore Paris!!

Shopping hint

Great wine shop where you can sample and eat cheese and crackers - Vin et Whisky just north of the corner of Rue Mange and Rue LaCepede

Charming hotel in the most perfect location

Would recommend Wed, Sep 3, 2014
This is a charming little hotel on a quiet street in the middle of the latin quarter. The location just couldn’t be better –the beautiful Jardin des Plantes is right at the end of the street, the Pantheon and Jardin du Luxembourg are very close by and you can stroll down to Notre Dame and the Seine in about 10 minutes. You can also access the metro very easily around the corner at Place Monge. There’s lots of choice nearby in terms of places to eat and the Place de la Contrescarpe/Rue Mouffetard is quite a lively spot at night. It’s a very safe place to stroll about, particularly at night. In terms of the hotel itself I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. My room was immaculate and there’s a good breakfast available if you want it. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be staying there again on my next visit.

Attractions

Take a walk through the Jardin des Plantes to Quai Saint Bernard where you can catch the batobus ferry (daily ticket allows you jump on and off as you wish at designated points along the Seine such as Notre Dame, Louvre, Eiffel Tower)

Snug, clean and friendly

Would recommend Sat, Jul 12, 2014
My husband and I were staying for six days and were initially given an inside room, but asked for an outside room and were accommodated the next day. The outside room, on the 5th floor, had a charming street view and although a little noisy, also had the smell of freshly-baking croissants wafting up in the morning from the bakery across the street! We liked the twin beds (no fighting over blankets!) and the room overall was surprisingly roomy.

Dining

Just up the Rue Lacepede is the Contrescarpe plaza - tres picaresque. And just down the rue from there is Rue Pot du Feu, with another charming group of restaurants. All have outdoor tables good for people-watching and it seems the food all meets the minimum French standard of quality with lots of prix fixe meals offered.

A Great place to stay!

Would recommend Tue, Jun 10, 2014
The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and were always available to answer questions or just for a chat and laugh! The location is fantastic (we love the atmosphere in the Latin Quarter) with easy access to the metro. Our room was small and very comfortable with a good fan, (it was hot at the time) TV, wifi and mini-bar. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with complimentary soap,shampoo/bath gel and shoe shine packets. The shower is hot with good pressure and the hair dryer works well. If we return to Paris we will definitely try and stay here again. A big thank you to all the lovely staff!

Small Romantic Room

Would recommend Tue, Jan 7, 2014
The hotel fit our needs well. The room wasn't big, but we were not planning on staying in the room for more than the necessities. Romanatic or otherwise. The staff are fantastic and speak English well. It is close to the Metro, and small shops for wine, cheese and bread. For the location and price it was worth it.

Shopping hint

Within 50ft of the hotel you can get all you Parisian food shopping done.

Not great

Would not recommend Wed, Dec 11, 2013
We went to Paris in Peak summer and it was in the 90sF. You would expect that a hotel would have AC! Not this one!! We were struggling with a table fan throughout. It was so bad. Even the location wasnt super great except a 7 min walk to the subway which turned out pretty convenient. Nice lesson for my husband and I to check for AC/ heater the next hotel you would go to.

Money saver

There is a grocery store and laundry nearby. If you want to save money in Paris, buy a big pack of water bottles from the grocery store. and maybe muffins/ croissants. Pack light since almost everywhere you can find laundry.
