Great location!!!

The hotel has Old-World charm and is located in a great part of the Latin Quarter, very close to the best bakeries and restaurants. It's a short walk to Notre Dame, and right around the corner from buses and the subway. It was the best deal for our money I would stay here again in a heart-beat!

Practically Perfect

Hotel St Christophe is a great place to stay if you are interested in a clean, comfortable room in a very convenient location with a lovely staff. This is the kind of place that you would find in the smaller towns of both France and England where the owner lives on premises. Not fancy, but quite practical. The rooms are small, but again very practical with a surprising amount of storage space for your clothes and interesting nooks and crannies for things like clocks, suitcase racks and coat hooks! I have no idea how to pack light, even though I've been traveling for 30 years and I was able to get everything into the closets and bathroom with no trouble. And I came to shop! Although I did not need extra room, I did find out that they do have a baggage lock up. I adore the fifth arrondissement, but there are others who feel uncomfortable in the student quarter for some reason. I arrived in Paris during the Charlie Hebdo situation, and primarily for the fantastic January sales. Many of the women in our loose group (that were there for the same reason) seemed very concerned for us, but they also seem to be the kinds of visitors who only feel safe at the Intercontinental at the Place de la Concorde! While I do not court danger, I find that approach is often much less stimulating and memorable. I never once felt unsafe while at the Hotel St Christophe, or anywhere for that matter. I walked late at night, and relied completely on the Metro to get around: no problems. I also met a friend there who is quite status conscious and averse to anything even close to "downmarket" and she thought the hotel was lovely. In fact, she plans to stay there again in June when she returns for the midyear sales. The staff is fabulous - very down to earth and helpful, and even willing to help you with your French! It would be difficult for me to dislike this hotel simply because of them. I would not recommend this hotel for: - people who are exceptionally tall or large, particularly if they are staying with a partner as the beds would not be comfortable in the situation. - those uncomfortable staying at anything other than a "name" hotel Quite close to the Place Monge Metro station which features a great fleamarket several days a week. If you are like me and love a great deal, of I urge you to visit the Nina Kendosa shop on rue Mouffetard which is walking distance from the hotel. Relaxed, chic, stylish clothing at an unbelievable price point. there are a number of other funky shops and bistros along this very cool street. Not all fabulous fashion is in the Place Vendome!

Wonderful place. Great location.

Forget the big chains and big prices. This hotel is one block from the Metro, but you may not need to leave this terrific Latin Quarter neighborhood! A block from the botanic gardens, a block from the roman ruins and a block from the best crepes, shopping and pastry shops in Paris. Walk to the Pantheon, Notre Dame, and Blvd. St. Germaine. Aside from the great location, the hotel is clean and modern. There is a small but effective elevator. For people with trouble going up steps, there are only two steps in the whole place. The rooms are not large, but the baths are modern and clean. Wifi is free but weak on the upper floors. The staff speaks English well and very attentive to anything that comes up. Again, the location can't be beat. You are staying in an area that is quiet and safe and has everything you need within a short walk. Enjoy!

Clean Friendly Basic Hotel

Very friendly staff at this casual hotel. Expect to leave your key at the front desk when you go out. Room was typical small size for Europe. Very clean and quiet. Safe location, next to the Metro. Cafes, patisseries, Starbucks all in area.

Wonderful honeymoon

Hotel St. Christophe is a dream - perfect Left Bank neighborhood, fabulous staff, cute rooms with great views, and great value for money. 20 minute walk to Notre Dame, 15 minute walk to Bld Saint Germain, 10 minute walk to Jardins de Luxembourg, 5 minute walk to Rue Mouffetard (Paris' oldest), and oh so close to great bakeries, cute shops, with a FABULUOUS wine shop nearly across the street (Vin et Whisky). Right along a very convenient and busy metro line 7. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. J'adore Paris!!

Charming hotel in the most perfect location

This is a charming little hotel on a quiet street in the middle of the latin quarter. The location just couldn’t be better –the beautiful Jardin des Plantes is right at the end of the street, the Pantheon and Jardin du Luxembourg are very close by and you can stroll down to Notre Dame and the Seine in about 10 minutes. You can also access the metro very easily around the corner at Place Monge. There’s lots of choice nearby in terms of places to eat and the Place de la Contrescarpe/Rue Mouffetard is quite a lively spot at night. It’s a very safe place to stroll about, particularly at night. In terms of the hotel itself I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. My room was immaculate and there’s a good breakfast available if you want it. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be staying there again on my next visit.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take a walk through the Jardin des Plantes to Quai Saint Bernard where you can catch the batobus ferry (daily ticket allows you jump on and off as you wish at designated points along the Seine such as Notre Dame, Louvre, Eiffel Tower)

Great location

Staff was very helpful. Lots of local info. Very close to place Monge metro and you can walk to notre dame area in 10 minutes. The only complaint was we had a lower level room that opened to a dark dirty central area which smelled of smoke. It was hot in the room since there's no AC so we had to have windows open al night. A big of a security issue and had to deal with the smoke smell.
