Wonderful location for first time in Paris

Would recommend Mon, Dec 29, 2014
Very nice hotel. Very clean and the bathroom was beautiful. Small room but that is to be expected in Paris. View from room could have been better (looked out into an alley). Mostly a great stay. Only complaint is the hotel advertised FREE internet and the FREE was a slow version. If you wanted high speed it was an additional 15 Euros per day. Would stay there again.

Dining

Definitely plan your food choices out before you go. Very difficult to find "good" restaurants at the last minute in Paris.

Good hotel, staff and location

Would recommend Fri, Mar 28, 2014
Booked a superior room and was given room 601 which has a large terrace that overlooks Rue De Rivioli. The room was not ready when we arrived at an early hour so we took a stroll to nearby Place Vendome and the Tuliaries Gardens. The staff, especially the reception and bellboy staff were very polite and responsive when we expressed a need. This worked out wonderfully for us. If you are looking for ultimate luxury and pampering then you need to look elsewhere. Overall we we extremely pleased with our stay at the Hotel Royal,Saint Honore.

Room was good although they never topped up the coffees etc we used., we had to keep asking # not a great problem ) Air con was a very useful feature .

Couple's getaway

Would recommend Tue, May 7, 2013
This is a nice clean hotel. We got the 20sqm room (forgot what they call it) and it was large enough for two people for a week with places to put the luggage so we didn't trip over it. The bathroom was a little small; there was only one sink so two people can't really get ready for the day at the same time and the bathtub was so small it was almost worthless (and I'm only 5'5). The housekeeper did an excellent job every single day. Internet is free and decent speed. We were on the 2nd floor and there as a little bit of street noise but it didn't bother us much (the streets are not very busy), if you are a light sleeper you may want to ask for a higher room. I thought the pillow could have been more comfortable but that's personal preference. Location is a very short walk from two metro stations and on a street with some very exclusive (expensive) shops as far as you can see in either direction so it's an upscale area. Lots of brasseries in the area with decent food, most dial the pretense down to a level that will keep you from getting upset and deal with English speakers fairly well. Two of our favorites were L' Imperial on Rivoli and La Coupe d'Or just out the door of the hotel about 100yds to the right (east) on the opposite side of the street. I'd have no problem staying here again or recommending the hotel.

Attractions

Champs Elysees is a tourist trap very similar to Times Square in NY. Take a walk, take some pictures but don't eat there and don't spend more than an hour or two. The restaurants gouge you and there's no shops that can't be found at home if you live in a decent sized city. After seeing both, I'd take Rue St-Honore over the Champs Elysees any day.

The Hotel Royal Saint Honore in Paris was wonderful and I will stay there again and again. Their staff was very helpful and gracious, especially the Consierge. The restaurants were charming with a great breakfast room off the lobby and a cozy cafe for a quick bite facing the street. Although the closet was quite small, the hotel more than made up for it with its location. I could walk to the Louvre or most anywhere else for shopping in this exclusive neighborhood full of the best boutiques the City of Lights has to offer.

Attractions

Tuillieries Gardens, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, River Seine, Notre Dame, Palais Royal, Rue de Rivoli, Angelina's (for tea and chocolate) around the corner, The Opera and stores on Hausemann Blvd, The Ritz, Champs Elysee. Visit L'Orangerie at Place Concorde for Monet's waterlilies .
