1st Night in Paris!

We (my sisters and my niece) had one night in Paris before we traveled on in France so our stay at Elysees Union could not have been more perfect! Imagine our surprise when we walked out of the hotel after dropping our bags and saw the Eiffel tower! We were thrilled! And it's only a few blocks over to Champs-Elysees & the Arc de Triomphe! So location was PERFECT! They upgraded us to a large suite which was also wonderful! The hotel is lovely - older but clean - the rooms were a bit worn but clean and the staff was friendly and helpful! There is a continental breakfast that comes w. the room - it was downstairs so that was a plus!

Great Hotel-Definitely Recommended

Hotel Elysee Union is a great hotel, with excellent service, in a convenient location. We got a great deal on a flight & hotel package through [...] ($801 USD for RT from Boston to Paris, plus 4 nights hotel) and we could not have been happier. The hotel is charmingly-decorated, clean, and comfortable. Boissiere metro stop is right around the corner, and we could gaze up at the Eiffel Tower from our room's balcony! :)While the decor, location, and cleanliness of the hotel was great, he clincher for me was the service. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful. I emailed them the week before our stay with some special requests. They kindly and promptly obliged, making 3 nights' worth of dinner reservations for us, and agreeing to let us store our luggage there on the morning we arrived in paris (at 7am, but check-in wasn't til 2pm). When we arrived at 9am and indicated that we'd like to drop off our luggage as arranged, we were informed that our room was ready and we could head on up! This was SUCH a delight after a sleepless overnight flight from Boston! The service was just as great during our stay, and staff kindly took photos for us, chilled our champagne (purchased at the local market) for us, and even thought to provide 3 nice champagne flutes. (we were planning on using the coffee mugs supplied in our room.)I gladly recommend this hotel!

The Texan Review

When my daughter and I first arrived the staff was eager to help with our bags. We were greeted with warmth and they were very helpful in giving directions to our destinations. The room was adequate in size with a VERY nice bathroom. We even had a view of the tip of the Eiffel tower! House keeping was great, our room was kept nicely. They have an inviting court yard where we enjoyed cafe and Orangina almost every evening. They also had a cute breakfast room, which we did not have the pleasure of experiencing, but highly recommend to try! We also appreciate the wonderful night clerk, Samir, for helping us plan out our days! He was very knowledgeable, as were the rest of the staff, about everything that Paris had to offer. If they did not know the answer to our question they were MORE than happy to find out for us. I have recommended this hotel to my friends already!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Even though you have to pay up front, the Metro is a GREAT way to get to all of your personal destinations in a quick manner! It can get confusing down there so do not be afraid to ask for help, they were all very informative. You will use the Metro more often than you may think! Sit back, give your feet a rest and enjoy the ride! :)

Most Memorable Staff!

Our very first trip to Paris was made even more pleasant by the three main staff members at the front desk. [...] were cheerful, accomodating, friendly and professional. Iitially, when we checked in, we were taken aback by the size of the double room and counldn't imaging living in the room for 3 weeks. However, we managed to put away 2 large suitcases of clothing. Although the beds were not very comfortable, by the end of our first week in Paris we came to think of and refer to the Elyesse as home. And a home should have had a DVD player and a radio, especially when about the only English television station is CNN Abroad. Parisians eat a lite breakfast and therefore we did not find the 20euro per person breakfast for a basket of bread, coffee, fruit and yougart worth the price. Walk to the Effile, Arc De Triomphe and down the Champs Elysees to the Louvre. Or there's always the Metro! It is fantastic and simply organized! It's a very short walking distance to the #6,1,9, 2 . ..etc. Also the RER A-line is a short walk.

Perfect location for the price!

It was truly a relief to go there after a busy day sight seeing in Paris. It was quiet, clean, small but cozy. The bathroom was bright and up to date, the shower was very good, the towels were clean and quite new. The beds could be a little less firm. The continental breakfast was excellent but not included. The staff was very friendly and helpful, all could speak English. Nearby grocery store and restaurants were all very good . My daughter and I recommend the ones on Kebler, all very, very good.

LIttle corner restaurants ( Le Corner & the one diagonally across from the hotel on Kleber)) are very good. Those little bistros are better than the ones that are reviewed in most travel books.

Convenient Hotel

The staff was very courteous and enjoyable. Breakfast is served in your room at no extra charge. The location is very convenient to public transit and the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Many dining options located within the area. Easy tour bus connections located nearby. Overall, a great experience and we would recommend this hotel without reservation for someone looking for a place in the $150 to $200 a night range in the heart of Paris.
