The Duret Hotel Palace is a true
The Duret Hotel Palace is a true gem. Believe all the photos on their website. I travel a lot through Europe and have had a fair share of the bad, good and very good. This hotel is extremely well-located, just minutes away from the Arc and Place Charles de Gaulle, and even closer to the Argentine Metro station. The best thing is that the hotel is tucked away on a little street so it's very quiet, but it takes 1 minute to walk to all the action. There are wonderful restaurants and boulangeries next to the hotel, along with a supermarket. You cannot fault the rooms either - very clean and quite spacious for a European hotel to be honest. Avoid Level 1 if you are a non-smoker. We stayed on that level and our room smelt a little of smoke, but I didn't mind. Levels 2-5 are non-smoking I think. Internet is free too. A plus.

Quiet and well located
The hotel is very well located and very close to the subway system. But the best was that it was very quiet as least from the traffic, less from the neighbor. Like in every Parisian hotel I have been, the bathroom was very small and the shower poorly protected. So "flood" is a regular occurrence. The staff was very helpful and friendly. A smaller hotel with little inconvenient overall. The breakfast is the only room service available.

Beautiful decor, clean, good location
This was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to France in May 2009. Very clean (and I'm a clean freak) and very nice. Small, of course, but not exceptionally so. I loved the modern decor and modern bathroom, both something lacking in the two other hotels we stayed in (one in Paris, one in Aix-en-Provence). My only beef is that the walls seemed a little thin; we were in room 207 on the second floor and could hear the people next door in the evening. This didn't bother me much. The room was nicely air-conditioned, a plus since it was hot when we were there. There is only a half-door on the shower, which seemed strange but water pressure was good and the bathroom was very clean. Location: Very, very close to the Arc de Triomphe and not a bad walk from the Argentine metro stop (I think it's on the 1 line, but check this). There's a good bakery at the corner of Rue Duret, and a grocery/market on Rue Duret where you can get necessities. We had dinner at the nearby Le Petit Bordelais, very good food (especially the steak, and the lemon meringue tart) and interesting artsy decor. Main dishes ran about 25 euro. The lady at Duret's front desk was extremely helpful and friendly (and spoke English well). She honestly seemed like she wanted us to have the very best stay. She made restaurant reservations for us and recommendations for nearby shopping. We were very happy with the service. Thoroughly enjoyed our romantic stay and would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip.

Short walk from hotel
Bakery at the corner is a good, inexpensive alternative to the hotel's pricy buffet breakfast. Buy your breakfast there and take it to a bench somewhere near the Arc.

Hotel Duret in Paris
Staff was helpful...made reservations and changes without problems. Great location to Champs Elysee and Arc. Metro Argentine down the street. Free internet was great help. Room was typically small but nicely decorated and bathroom was nice and large with small courtyard just out window.
