n a quiet typical street of the Latin Quarter, overlooking the banks of the Seine. The hotel is located on the left bank, within walking distance of Notre Dame between the bank and the Boulevard Saint-Germain. Walking distance of the Museum of Natural History, the Institute du Monde Arabe, the Sorbonne and the Pantheon. A charming place to live at best your Parisian break. Its wide facade, which once must have been a shop-window, opens with a warm reception, decorated with beautiful antique furniture and a wonderful tapestry.

Style over practicality !

Very stylish hotel room but at a cost to comfort! Our room toilet was in a cubicle... I am not quite 6ft but could just close the door & no full length mirror! Our request for room change was completed swiftly. Lovely room & stylish but nowhere to put things, no shelves no hooks & limited coat hangers. Bath & basin were illuminated with changing colour scheme. Overall acceptable standards but more needs to be done regarding practicalities within the room. Location was fantastic. Traveled by tube which was easier to use after first day.

amazing location and great staff!

Perfect location! My husband and I absolutely adore the latin quarter and St. Germain and this was an ideal place to stay. A quiet, lovely street away from the hustle of the latin district/St. Michaels, with Rue St. Germain on one side with lots of restaurant options and the Seine, with a view of Notre Dam on the other end, lovely! The hotel staff was very nice and helpful and the hotel was absolutely gorgeous. Quaint and quirky! The room was clean and comfortable but the only complaint we had was the lack of privacy with the toilet. It was a tiny stall with no door (although we swung the shower door over, but it didn't cover much). Not ideal for new couples but my husband and I have been together for years, it hardly made a dent in our trip! Simple breakfast for a small fee in the morning was helpful when we wanted to rush right out to see the sights.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Monet's house was about an hour away from Paris. If you are in the city for more than a few days this is a must! The gardens were absolutely divine! We took Viator tours and were picked up right at our hotel. Only 5 of us total, easy ride out there and the result was breathtaking!

overpriced barebones hotel

I would've preferred to stay in a hostel over this overpriced bare bones hotel. The rooms are tiny with no shower despite being advertised as a bath with shower. There is a tub that lights up (very red light district), but no stand up shower. There is a very short spray that you can use to sort of rinse yourself off, but it is so short that you have to sit in the tub to do it. I am a small woman and found this difficult. Oh and did I mention there is no shower curtain or door separating the bedroom from where the tub, sink and toilet are????? You have to bath less than a foot from where you sleep! Good thing I was here with my husband, but I would've appreciated some privacy and a stand up shower. There is a "door" to the toilet which is probably the smallest space for a toilet I have ever seen; however the toilet and it's door are a sheer green glass and there is a 1/4 inch of open space so you can basically see and hear everything. Yuck! The neighborhood is sketchy too --- a homeless person was sleeping on the street one night etc. There's also a local bar up the street (Long Hop) where lots of local 20 something year olds hang out and drink all night long...even with the window closed you can hear them and their drunken screams. The room was very stuffy, so we turned on the A/C, which does absolutely nothing to cool down the room. There are 2 tiny vents for A/C that are pathetic. The front staff is reasonably friendly, but don't speak much English. You have to leave your key at the front desk, which is weird, but once you see the mini hockey stick type key chain attached to their archaic key you'll be happy to not have to lug it around Paris. The biggest problem for us was the lack of a stand up shower and no privacy when bathing or using the bathroom. This hotel is very deceitful in their advertising. I would report them to the BBB if they were in the states. Don't make the same mistake we did...don't stay here unless you don't like to shower and you enjoy small tight spaces.

Excellent position and service

A compact hotel, with small but very comfortable rooms with modern fittings and facilities, but tucked away in the latin quarter about 2 minutes from Notre Dame. Excellent centre for exploring Paris, close to Metro, but we walked everywhere from this hotel. Service was excellent, spoke English well although we were trying our French! Breakfast at 11 Euros was good value with plenty (Continental- cereals, croissants, lovely bread, spreads, yoghurts, juice etc and lashings of coffee). No coffee/tea facilities in room, but pod coffee machine available for use in dining/lounge area at any time. Internet was available but for some reason I couldn''t connect. Room was small (but we only slept there!); if you were staying fro more than a few week you might need a bit more space for clothing etc. Otherwise, can recommend highly, very clean too.

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

Worth the 10-15 minute walk in the evening if you like Jazz;- Cafe Universal on Rue St Jacques- Jazz at 9 p.m (no charge), simple food, very cozy and friendly- but to get there you do seem to be walking away from where anything is!

Very convenient location

Hotel was 2 min walk (at most) to Notre Dame. I could hear ND's church bells from the window of my room. Location felt very safe, and was also conveniently located next to small cafes and places to shop and eat. The room was very, very small. I was solo traveling and it felt cramped even for one person, but I was out most of the day / night so the lack of space was ok. Everyone at the front desk was also very helpful with providing directions and local suggestions for places to eat--they all also spoke English too which was a great plus. I would stay again if solo traveling, but would stay elsewhere if with others.

Excellent

The hotel was excellent for our trip. It is in a perfect location that is easily accessible to all of the popular areas in Paris as well as the metro. This makes it very easy to get around. There are also many restaurants and a lot of shopping right outside the hotel. A true European gem!

Could not be more perfect!

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is right in the middle of everything you could possibly need. Food, attractions, shopping, metro, etc. What makes it even better is the fact that it sits on a little back street off the main road so it is protected from all the noise from the main street and restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and the hotel is very clean. The room is very small but who stays in their room in Paris? All we used it for was to shower and sleep. One of the best values I have come across!

Quirky, but alright.

The hotel itself is in a great location and the room was pretty decent. It's a few blocks from Notre Dame and was recently renovated; perhaps a little strangely (carpet on the second floor is made to look like bricks). Free wifi was also a plus. The staff was pretty friendly and the place was clean. They make you leave your key at the door, which after having my camera stolen on the train weirded me out a little, but that could just be me. I will say that the biggest reason problem were the bathrooms; they afford NO privacy. The room we were in featured a toilet in a glass enclosure and while you may not have been able to see through it on the side facing the bathroom, you could see shadows through the walls and you could hear everything. The stall was also small enough that my 5'2 girlfriend was even banging her knee's/elbows on the walls. I'd book the hotel again, but not without calling to make sure we got a room with a more private bathroom. I'd suggest that the small rooms are not for any more than one person.

Need new front desk person

The room was nice enough but the guy at the front desk was less than friendly/helpful, internet access only worked when I walked way down the hallway by the elevator and the entire hotel did not have one iron to borrow. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
