Excellent all round, with only very minor niggles

Would recommend Tue, Nov 25, 2014
The location is excellent in that is in a very central and main area called Saint Lazare. And to add to this it is right next to the side of the main station in that area. When you come out just turn right and take the small pedestrian crossing and it leads straight to one of the side entrances into the mainline station ! And you can the Saint Lazare is a hub station in that many lines go through it, making it easy and convenient for travelling. Only downer in the area and not really a fault or something the hotel can do anything about is that the both ends of the street and square area does seem to have some unsavoury characters hanging around there from the evening onwards. Can make it feel unsafe for female travellers in particular, but it is a busy area so should be ok. But then this could be true of many areas in Paris unfortunately. Everything else was excellent, although the room did seem to be a little on the small side and did seem to be very warm, to the point we had to keep opening the window to cool it down (AC and heating were off). Also small note to the hotel, it really would be better to provide real cups for hot drinks and not plastic cups. These just aren't very suitable for hot drinks.

Time saver

Don't walk all way down to front of square from train station. Just take small zebra / pedestrian crossing outside of hotel entrance and cross you can walk straight into the train station side entrance (especially good at night as it avoids passing by the corner of the street which often has unpleasant characters).

Would not recommend Thu, Mar 6, 2014
the hotel is very very small, The elevator is really small and my room was a double bed room and it was very small , the bathroom is very small , I even hurt my elbow in the bathroom by moving cuz its small , they have only 1 lady to clean all the rooms, there breakfast is a joke, they had 3 boiled eggs and orange juice and milk and some cereal , I booked this hotel based on the 3 stars the hotel has, also the pictures of the hotel inside and out is not the same cuz the Rooms looks big in the pictures , but in realty is very small ..i don't recommend it at all I would paid extra money to be out side the area be close to Eiffel tower and other places, anyways

Hotel is fine but area at night unsafe

Would not recommend Sun, Sep 1, 2013
Arrived late at night and felt the area was not safe. Noted a lot of homeless in the area and many individuals were panhandling. During the day it is a brisk and busy business area but would not recommend arriving or departing late at night. Most of the train station exits are closed late at night and even though the hotel is just across the street , after dark it takes 3 to 5 minutes to get to the to the hotel in an area where sidewalks are being worked on and people are constantly asking for money. There is construction on the train line between St. Lazare and Gare du Nord on the RER line E that requires taking an alternate route which also is not recommended, especially for a female traveling alone.

Not a good experience

Would not recommend Thu, Jun 20, 2013
You have to give your room key to them every time you leave which I did not like. (its an actual key) I had to pay an extra 40euros a night for my friend to stay with me. They cleaned the room everyday even when I told them i did not want them to. The hotel is small but nice. The hotel is in a good location for shopping and near a train/subway system. I did not like the service that i received i would not stay there again but the area is good.

After seeing the condition of the hotel lobby maybe it was an act of God that kept us from wishing we never stayed there. Our plane was canceled due to weather.

Good value and location for short stays

Would recommend Wed, Apr 25, 2012
Room and bath were small with few amenities (both typical in my experience for Paris value hotels) but very clean, comfortable, good bed, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast for 10 Euro, and very convenient to metro, bus, and rail transportation ( right by Gare St. Lazare). Bustling neighborhood, easy walk to Pl Clichy, Montmartre, Opera, Madeleine, Bd. Haussmann.

Dining

Rue des Martyrs a very lively and colorful street of food shops, and neighborhood boutiques and cafes.

Would recommend Mon, Dec 5, 2011
I spent 4 nights at this little reasonable priced hotel and can report only good things: location is great, walking to major attraction is easy, metro, busses, train all close by. Room and bathroom were very clean and quiet. Personnel was friendly and very helpful. Missed an english speaking channel ....
