Disappointed
Room was not ready when we arrived and had not been cleaned. Upon entering room, dirty sheets and towels piled on floor. BIG CONSTRUCTION SITE across the street and was very loud. Noise woke us up very early each morning and could not leave windows open. Room was warm, stuffy and A/C did not work. Because of construction, water was shut off to hotel and we did not have water from 0900-1400. Had to set alarm early in order to use bathroom. Wifi connection was intermittent and had to pay for it. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Renting/riding bikes in Paris saved time and was a blast! But if you don't feel comfortable weaving in and out of traffic, I wouldn't recommend.

Mixed at best
The hotel was located in a somewhat funky area--a plus--but across from a construction site. The reception area is pleasant and they were willing to let us leave bags in the storage area. However, they charge extra for wifi, breakfast is very expensive, and the rooms are quite shabby, with old tired carpets, marginal beds, peculiar showers and tiny tubs.

Short walk from hotel
Can walk from this hotel to Montmartre and take a walking tour led by chatty and informative French college students who work only for tips. The brochure for this group is available in the hotel.

construction zone
Plan to wipe off your shoes after walking on Rue Cardinet because as the title says, this is a construction zone of both the street in front of the place, and a new building directly accross from it that will likely take a year to complete. That said, the location was reasonable, not directly on a busy street (maybe this will be different once the construction is complete) but close to restaraunts as probably all Paris hotels are. Given the breakfast at 20 and internet at 10, I didn't even quote the bar but I was there to walk around anyway.

Short walk from hotel
Train was only a block away and only 20-30 minutes from anywhere, this is probably the same for most hotels. Get a full street map before going, (the tourist map from the hotel worked just fine but again, get it ahead of time if you are not taking a taxi to the hotel) or finding any place in Paris is a job as all but the major street names change every few blocks and the train/bus maps do not have streets shown on them, just the stops. 3 day pass was I think 30EU and worth it to be able to pop on and off any train anywhere.

Great price for Paris
The Hotel is Northwest of the center of the city. Many subway lines come there. If you prefer there is a shuttle bus to and from the airport for around 17 euro each way. Is worth it if it is a hot day. The Hotel was surprisingly clean. They charge extra for breakfast, setup on trays. You can carry your tray outside into a nice little garden. They also charge extra for internet. The neighborhood around the Hotel I found very nice. A local area with plenty of places to buy fresh food at markets or buy at restaurants and bars. The prices are much better then when you are in the center of Paris. If you have the chip and pin in your credit card you can rent bikes by the hour from stations all over the city. I did this for days and it was the perfect way to see the city and get around. For the price this Hotel was incredible!

Best way to get around the city is to take the Metro (Subway) at the nearby station (3 min walk).

An American visiting family in Paris
Stayed 15 nights in winter. The room was small but average size by Paris standards. Queen size bed was very comfortable, the room was warm and located on the sixth floor rear. It had lots of light, an open view on the courtyard, and was blissfully quiet (there is construction going on across from the front of the building). Location is a bit out of the way, but close to a metro stop on a line that goes directly to the Champs Elysees. Last not least, the staff (particularly at the reception desk) did everything they could to ensure that my stay was most pleasant.
