Okay for one night
While in a great location will not likely go back to this hotel. Hotel room needs work. Not very comfortable. Dark paint, dark curtains and dark carpet make for a gloomy and already small room. Lobby is more comfortable than the room.

Hot and rude
I was quite disappointed with the quality of this Holiday Inn as compared to others. My biggest issue was the AC did not work for a full week. Despite the outside temperature of 46F/8C at night, the room would be 80F/27C. The front desk suggested we just open the window. While that was fine during the day, the noise from the street prevented any sleep. The front desk was generally rude on other subjects as well. When asked for dining recommendations, they just shrugged and said "walk around until you find something". No, extra room charges such as breakfast and mini-bar can't be added to the bill, and need to be paid in cash. What? I was disappointed at the lack of WiFi despite advertisement that they offered it, and the "broadband" topped out around 30kbps. I had a great time in Paris otherwise, but won't make the mistake of ever staying in a Holiday Inn again.

Never Again
Rooms are very small and dark. Room size the equivalent of a cruise ship cabin, "tiny". Breakfast, not worth your $.

Hotel is located within 1 block of Metro stops and 6 blocks from train station(Montparnesse). Very crowded area but becomes easier to navigate when you adust to the FAST pace of life there. Many small restaurants and shops. Bon Marche grocery/department store is 4 blocks away and is amazing! Room was small but clean.

You can pick up take-out food at nearby small bakeries and misc. delicatessins. Very expensive to eat out all the time.

Holiday Inn PARIS-ST. GERMAIN DES PRES
The hotel is close to the metro and easy walking distance to many good resturants. It is under construction so I did'nt eat there. The only problem was that they could not get me a taxi when they had said they would.

Good holiday in Paris
Our stay was good overall. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby was undergoing renovations so it was not as nice as expected, but understandably so.

Central and comfortable!
I like to stay in the Porte d'Orleans neighborhood which is one end of the No. 4 Metro line. The Holiday Inn St. Germain was between Porte d'Orleans and central Paris. It's location made getting to most points of interest very easy. The staff was friendly, bi-lingual (anglais-francais), and very professional. I hope to return someday soon. The room we had was quiet and had a state-of-the -art bathroom with a great shower head!

Great Location
The hotel was located very close to the metro station but we walked everywhere. The only way to see Paris is to walk Paris. The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre were only 45 minute walks from the hotel. We really enjoyed the whole city on foot.

great location, easy to travel from
New hotel, modern and very efficient. Multi lingual helpful reception staff. Small rooms typical of Capital hotels deperately need closet and drawer space. Its located walking distance to the Latin Quarter, and there's a metro station a hundred mtrs away. Main road crossing provides many taxis. Dont order one from the hotel they take too long in arriving. Eat breakfast out of the hotel unless your price includes it, its very expensive and poor value.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Shops everywhere. 5 min walk to Lafayette major store Montparnasse. The metro and buses take one everywhere quickly efficiently and cheaply. Get orientated before you arrive. ALL restaurants are expensive compared to other European cities. Food generally is not excellent and not value for money. Outside of Paris the prices are much less and food quality superior.

Perfect Location - Great neighborhood
The hotel remodel was worth the wait! We arrived just after the New Year so the lobby was still very festive from the Christmas Holidays. The staff is wonderful especially Maria, Brice and Gaberial. They speak the most fluent English and are the most helpful when you need assistance with booking shuttles, cabs, or directions to great resturants. The rooms are great - although I wouldn't recommend for families with young children. The bathroom has a glass window that is visable to the bedroom although they do have a blind you can shut - may be uncomfortable for those a little too curious. An expensive lesson learned after the 2nd meal - we thought breakfast was included in our rate. It wasn't and their bunch isn't worth the $18 EUROS per person (approx $24 USD) - Run to the monoprix get some instant coffee to get you going then grab something in a cafe along the way. It is easier on the budget plus you get to experience Paris and all the great places they have to share. The hotel is located in a residential area of Paris. It is less than a block walk to the Metro (Line 4 St. Placide stop) This metro location is just one stop from a major train hub to connect to any of the other lines.
