Holiday Inn Garden Court Montmartre Hotel in Paris is conveniently located in the highly desirable yet quiet district of Montmartre. We liked it

Very near Lamarcke-Calincourte metro. Use the elevator coming up if you are lazy, it is near 100ish stairs going down. It is Metro line 14, you can change to more central lines at Madeleine and Concorde. Buy a pass for the Metro, it is really convenient. Safe to walk even late at night, there are always people around. Arrange breakfast in the hotel, it is most convenient that way. There is a pastry shop, a cheese shop, a wine shop, and a bit expensive grocery quite nearby. Also a nice book shop, a toy store, and some restaurants/bars there. Not a long walk from the Montmartre cemetary, notr from the Moulin Rouge. Hotel staff will give you what you need, but this is not to be confused with coddling. Everything is appropriate for the cash you pay. If you need servants, go elsewhere. If you want a clean and comfortable place to stay, not crippling your wallet, stay here.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Sacred Heart and the Butte Montmartre are nearby, nice places to see. This is an excellent, off the beaten track place to stay. A ten minute uphill walk to the metro, obviously downhill back.

American Friendly

Hotel Desk spoke English - very helpful and friendly. Hotel is in hilly MontMantre area of Paris - 15 minute walk from Metro (uphill). Close to Sacre Cour & Moulin Rouge. Only serves breakfast, but lots of great bistros to eat. Very clean, comforatble. Not spacious, but very reasonable for Paris. Internet service. Quiet, off the tourist track. Price reasonable.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If coming from Airport you have to change at Paris North to Metro. Good walk from Metro - recommend cab from Paris North (for luggage). More local flavor - wlak east toward Sacre Cour for many small local bistros. Don't bother with Moulin Rouge.
