Great location and value
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Republique in one of their single rooms between Christmas and New Year's Eve, and had a very pleasurable stay. Cons: - Uncomfortable/hard bed and pillows. - Soap and shampoo dispensers in bathroom felt a bit cheap. - Clean towels smelled like vinegar instead of soap. - Free TV channels had very poor signal. Pros: - Excellent location. The hotel is right next to a Metro station with most lines passing through. And it's a nice short walk to the heart of Le Marais. - Very safe neighborhood with lots of options for shopping and eating out. - Very nice common areas such as the lobby. - Very clean, large and updated room with new furniture. Overall, the hotel provided a very good value for staying in Paris comfortably and in a great location within minutes of all major points of interest.

Great family hotel
We were traveling with our 2 young kids. The room size was ok. 4 of us can stay in 2 double bed room. The elevator is a little bit small if you travel with big stroller. Other than that, it was a good hotel to stay.

Paris
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent dinner suggestions. They were always willing to help. the location was excellent. Although an old hotel, it was clean, and the room were more spacious than the average European hotel rooms.

Needs some remodeling
Bathroom was more like in a 2 star hotel than the four star that was advertised. Some mold on silicone, old bathtub. The room was comfortable and quiet. Staff was very friendly and room was cleaned every day without anything missing. Safe was large and worked well. Room had a coffee maker and a small TV. Internet was very expensive and there was no Wi-Fi - just an old fashioned ethernet cable. Location is reasonable - there are multiple metro lines available at the Place De La Republique so you can access all major Paris attractions in 10-15 minutes. Major advantage of this hotel - room with two large beds = three people were able to sleep comfortably. This is not typical - other hotels usually offer either a single bed or two small beds. Overall - I do recommend this hotel, but only when price is comparable to three star hotels. If you are looking for a 4 star experience, avoid.

Hotel internet is very expensive, but if you go to the other side of Place De La Republique, there are numerous cafes with free internet.

Great long weekend in Paris
The hotel is perfectly located at a metro stop that allows for extremely easy access to all of Paris. We had a very comfortable stay and would absolutely stay here again. The rooms are not large but I have come to expect that in Paris. I would recommend trying to get the breakfast included because food is expensive. Also the Internet in te lobby is not free. It's 7 euros per hour except if you are a hotel premier member. I am not sure how to get it but with a bit of coaxing we were able to get Internet access free a few time. The staff and service was excellent. One of the best for the price I have ever stayed in Paris.

Comfortable Business Trip
We had stayed at a "french" hotel for a few days at the beginning of our business trip and we were cramped and uncomfortable. I shared a room with a coworker and we ended up having to get another room because there just wasn't enough space for us to share. But this hotel's double room had more than enough space for my coworker and I to have privacy and sleep comfortably. It had two double beds that weren't right next to eachother, unlike most european hotels where "double occupancy" means two twin mattresses pushed together and sharing a head board.

Book your train tickets online for the Eurostar or Thylas trains. I looked online in paris and somehow it was cheaper for my assistant to purchase back in the U.S. online. We saved $400.00 usd by having her book any last minute tickets.
