Part of an apartment-hotel chain, the Citadines Prestige Saint-Germain-des-Pres Paris specializes in flexible 4-star stays, so guests can customize their Paris break however they choose. Budget one-beds occupy the cheaper end of the scale, while huge studio rooms come with separate living and kitchen areas, for a home-away-from-home feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer plenty of light, and sloping glass roofs and orange tones give the lounge and breakfast areas a touch of Parisian chic. For business guests, the apart-hotel comes stocked with Wi-Fi (fees may apply), meeting rooms, and in-house options like dry-cleaning and ironing services.

Neighborhood
Citadines Prestige Saint-German is found on the bank of the Seine River, across from the much-photographed Pont-Neuf. Outside, there are numerous antique shops, art galleries, cafes and clothing boutiques to explore and enjoy, along with the loftier exhibits at the Louvre Museum nearby. The diminutive Place Furstenberg, a tiny island in a car-free street, is also close and makes for a great contemplation spot away from the busy Paris thoroughfares.
Hints and tips
For a quick treat any time of day, grab a hot chocolate at the reception area.

Use the hotel's local gardens, the nearby Vert-Galant, to escape the noise of the city for picnics between shady maples and chestnut trees.

Weekly housekeeping and ala carte daily cleaning are provided.

One of the best Citadines

If you're prepared to pay the supplement as we did for a room overlooking the Seine this is one of the most wonderful locations in Paris. As in London, north of the river tends to have better access to more of the metro but St Michel is only 200 yards from the Citadines and is on Metro and RER. Louvre and Notre Dame are easily walkable. The staff are excellent.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

ask staff. They will tell you everything and give a map. 300 yards to Carrefour, baker, loads cafes and some reasonable but not brilliant restaurants. Go towards St Michel for vast range of Greek, Asian etc options

Great stay for first timers

Me and my friend recently spent a week in Paris, the first time for both of us. The location of this hotel is really the main selling point. Smack in the middle of everything! You can get there easily from the airport, walk to the the Louvre and Notre Dame, as well as many little stores and a million metro stops. Getting to the Eiffel Tower wasn't that hard, though it took about 30 ish minutes on the metro (which is conveniently located less than 10 minutes walking distance away from the hotel) but if you really wanted to you could walk it. The staff was very friendly and helpful (as young American girls knowing no French at all, we were a bit worried at first). I had requested 2 beds, and when we discovered we had a room with one bed, they worked hard and quickly to fix it for us. For an America, the rooms are small. This isn't a negative, its just a fact! European hotels are not as big as American ones. It was a nice sized room with a small TV/Kitchen and a nice bathroom. This hotel really met all of our needs.

Nice apartment hotel with great location

We liked this hotel, although there were some mixed emotions on some of the services. The hotel is in a very good location, short walk away from Notre Dame and right next to the river Seine. The room was good size and clean, but it was missing a proper table. The hotel had no amenities, such as pool. The front desk personnel were straight forward, but not overly friendly. Breakfast was priced fine, but the parking was very expensive. For Paris hotel, we found this very adequate for us, but with a little more effort, they would be great.

Great Location, tiny rooms

The location is fantastic. 50 yards from the Pont Neuf with all the locks. But the rooms are tiny. Just bigger than the double bed (no queen). The place is tired and has that smell that cries out "replace me". The breakfast is meager and expensive. The staff was excellent and helpful. Overall fair. But next time I'd look for a larger room in a hotel that's been more recently upgraded.

Unexpected Week in Paris

We were only expecting to stay at this hotel for two days, due to a rail strike in Germany the day our train was supposed to leave it turned into a week in Paris (worse places to be stuck - I know). I have to say this hotel and the staff were great, they always said "Bonjour" or "Bonsoir" every time we came into the lobby! The free coffee #really more of a machine barista# in the lobby is a great money saver as a Café crème on the streets of Paris is 3 euro alone. I also loved our little kitchenette which was fully stocked, I know because I tried #poorly# to cook a French meal. There were some things though that I felt could be improved upon - we stayed in early Nov and it was still pretty warm out but the hotel had already switched the air off and it was heat only. We had to sleep with the windows open at night and fight off the mosquitoes. Maybe this is an American thing but individual Heating and Cooling per room would be nice - but once we MacGyver'ed the sheers into mosquito netting we were fine. The only real complaint I had - I felt for a long stay hotel 9 euro a load #wash and dry# for laundry seems very steep to me. Otherwise I loved the place and would be back or stay at a Citidens property any day!

There are many cute Parisian places close by to save money on breakfast vs the hotel price.

Location, location, location!

Everything about our trip to Paris was perfect. Citadines is literally in the heart of Paris, within walking distance to EVERYTHING (Orsay, Louvre, Orangerie, Notre Dame, Seine right out the door, various neighborhoods to explore, and even the Eiffel Tower (a beautiful 40 minute walk along the river)). There was a plethora of restaurants to choose from all within steps from Citadines and metro stops every block. We stayed in a studio room and it was so spacious, comfortable, and clean. The staff was very friendly , welcoming, and helpful. After a long day exploring the city, we looked forward to going back to our comfortable studio. We also loved the water dispenser and coffee machine in the lobby.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

We got the 6 day museum pass at the airport when we landed and it more than paid for itself by day 3. It covers museums AND many of the major monuments AND allows you to skip the lines. You can also use it as many times as you want to go back into an attraction more than once. Other tips: Buy Rick Steves POCKET Paris guide. Incredible reference and very helpful for planning your days and also includes info on the history of Paris, art, etc. We took it with us everywhere. Be prepared for major crowds at Versailles. If you really want to experience the city, WALK. Taking the metro is good for the end of your trip when you're exhausted, but don't ride underground to get to your destination when you can be walking and taking in the sights and splendor of Paris!

Great Week!

The staff were wonderful...helpful, courteous, and professional. Room was alright for the price. Certainly could use some cleaning of the rug, but that is no big deal! Location is the best thing about the hotel. Right in the middle of everything!!!! Would stay there again and use the kitchenette more next time...would save bundles of money on eating.

Geat Location, Room for Improvement

On the downside, guests should be told in advance that an apartment with two levels with a circular staircase does not have the toilette on the sleeping level. And the 11 Euro breakfast cost lacked value, On the upside which outweighed the downside by far, the location made walking to Louvre, Orsay, Invalides, the Eifel Tower, the Pompadou Centre all very doable. Good restaurants at reasonable prices are nearby.
