Great location for sites and shopping!

This place is almost perfect. Easy ride from airport by train and a 5 min. walk from metro. Bike rentals right across the street, boulangerie around the corner across from a fruit stand. Nice inexpensive places to eat steps from the hotel. The hotel breakfast is a little pricey for my blood but it's a nice one if that isn't an issue for you. The staff all speak English and were very helpfull. My room was tiny and the walls a bit thin but I was still pleased with it. No street noise at all. I've been to Paris 6 times and this is my favorite hotel for a one week stay. I recommend it!

Take the train from the airport to the Chatalet/Les Halles train/metro stop and walk 5 minutes to the hotel. You'll save a lot of money. Not recommended if you have a lot of baggage.

Get the Metro visitor pass that includes all of the public transportation. We were able to see several hot spots in just one day and get to our hotel and back to the airport by using this Metro option.

PANTRY SIZE ROOMS

Room was extremely small (my pantry is bigger); no room to walk, no Dresser to unpack clothes (small closet only); When we were checking in, Desk clerk had the nerve to state he gave us a free upgrade (ha ha - original room must have been the broom closet) -- window opened up to another wall (bldg ~ 6 ft away) very disappointed; only positive thing I can say is that it was clean.

Ideal location, less than ideal room

Pros: Location was perfect - walking distance to Louvre and other attractions. Staff was extremely responsive at all times. Cons: TINY rooms. Felt claustrophobic at times - difficult to even open a suitcase in the room. Air conditioning wasn't functioning appropriately. With luggage, can only fit one person in the elevator at a time. Towels and sheets smelled weird. You have to drop your key off at the front desk each time you leave the building - inconvenient.

Terrible Ending

The room, location, etc of the hotel were fine. Our problem came when we tried to check out to catch our plane. They wouldn't let us take care of our bill the night before so we asked for an early wake-up call for the next morning. They didn't call our room but called someone else's instead. Then when we went down to check out the clerk was struggling to take the payment from two other guests. It took him 30 minutes and much confusion on his part to finish them. He actually went outside to help them deal with the fact that he had not called a cab as they had requested so after waiting we had to go outside to see if he would check us out. Again he was inept as he didn't know how to record our points, and refused to acknowledge that we had already paid for the rooms [...] He made us pay again for our room, which we did because we needed to catch out flight to the US. We did receive a credit from the hotel right away[...]

Great Location

Most of the staff was very friendly, however not able to accommodate requests for ice or water. The breakfast was expensive - 15 euros - most area restaurants served the same meal for half the price. My room didn't have a shower, but a very small tub with a shower head attachment. I asked to changed rooms, but was told another was not available.

Unbeatable location

This hotel lived up to the one previous rating. However due to a miss understanding (our fault)the continental breakfast was much more than we thought. The 15.00 euro/per a person was much to expensive as the previous rater stated.

Great Location...Good Price

The hotel rooms are small, but it is Paris! They're all small, even the expensive ones. The hotel itself was very clean and the atmosphere was great! The staff was very helpful and fluent in English. The breakfast was too expensive ( I think 15 euros) so we ate out around the town instead. I wish there were more channels on the TV, I think we got 5 total, and I would have loved free Wi-Fi, even if it was in the lobby. Calls to the US from the hotel phone was very affordable. 4 Euros for about 15 minutes. This is a great hotel. Great price for a room with in-suite (bathroom) and 2 blocks from the Louvre, and 2 blocks from Notre Dame. Recommend to couples and older families...not kiddos.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If your adventurous you can save a lot of money by seeing the sights taking the Metro and the RER instead of taxi's. We had a blast doing this!!! It was dirty and bit confusing (took us just a time or too to get it down pat)...but a great experience to add to our world trips. :-)
