OK for the price and has other merits
Not in the best part of town, crowded, dirty area. Our room is comfortable though and newly renovated. Has a/c, lcd tv, free wifi (can access in your room) coffee and bottled water. Special recognition to Alex & Emmanuel for being so accomodating, helpul and gave valuable info on how to enjoy the city. Hotel is pretty close to fast food, souvenir shopping, metro and the tour bus stop. There is a supermarket next door.

We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel, it was certainly located in a very convenient location, in close vicinity to the Subway system that was absolutely fantastic. The hotel was small, but about averagge for Europe. It was very clean, and the attendants were extremely helpful on getting around and where the best sites and restaurants were located.

Attractions, were absolutely "Astounding" Paris is certainly a place to have on your must see list, just for the History Lesson that is seen at almost every building and Monument.

Very good value for money with
Very good value for money with exceptional front desk service from staff such as Alexandre. We felt welcome from the first moment and it made our stay most enjoyable. Remember to press the front door bell after 10pm to gain access if there is no-one at the front desk. Only 100m from the Chateau Rouge Metro ( few stations have escalators) and taxis were readily available. Merci Beaucoup.

A day in Paris
We chose the BW Montmartre because it had been recently remodeled, was close to Montmartre (but away from noisy Pigalle) and the rate was very competitive. Our double room was very nice and the hotel staff was very helpful. There's a supermarket right next door and the Metro (Château Rouge on the #4 line) is just a block away and two stops from Gare du Nord. The neigborhood is very ethnic but safe, and Montmartre and Sacre Coeur are just a short and not very steep walk up the hill.

Bad Timing
Unfortunately, our visit occurred in the middle of renovations to the lobby (which is more of a small reception area). The hotel is quite quaint lacking the spacious and airy atmosphere normally experienced in U.S.-type hotels. The first room we were given was not cleaned from the previous occupants which led to a trip back to reception for another room. The next room, although clean, was similar to the first--small. The room photos online did not give a true impression of its actual size. To the hotel's benefit, the rooms were esthetically appealing, clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower (albeit small) were recently renovated and an added plus for the room. Visiting from Germany for only a few days, the two back packs and two pieces of luggage only added to the claustrophobic feel of the room. Highly recommend if luggage-laden, you consider a hotel that has larger rooms. Other accolades include a courteous and helpful staff, a supermarket right next door, a metro station and farmers market a half a block away, and plentiful low-end shopping and restaurants in the area including several McDonalds and a Kentucky Fried Chicken (albeit, if looking for these American-centric eateries, you have to ask yourself why you visited Europe to begin with). You should experience the multitude of different cultural foods as you can. You can get to/from just about anywhere in Paris by Metro (for speed) and bus (for sight-seeing). Buy passes for your duration of stay is good for all forms of public transportation. Good Luck and enjoy!!!
