one block away is rue Buci, one of the most wonderful streets in Paris. Buci is lined with cafes and is perfect for dinner or just relaxing while people watching French style.

Excellent Hotel in a great location
Hotel is perfectly situated within a one block walk of the Odeon Metro station. It's very easy to travel within and outside of Paris. Breakfast was included. It was okay. There are pastries, yogurts, fruit, coffee/tea, and cereals. No eggs, bacon, etc. Room was fine. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room. Bed was a queen so it was big enough. The bathroom was a little cramped. If you're used to American style hotels, you'll need to keep an open mind when travelling to Europe. Don'e expect all the same amenities you would get in the USA. Overall the hotel was very good. But it's the location in St Germain De Pres that makes this hotel great. We would stay here again.

Comfortable Hotel in the Heart of Paris
This was our first trip to Paris and this hotel did not disappoint. The rooms were decent sized although ours was somewhat "L" shaped. The decor and bathroom were nice. The beds were very comfortable. We would open the windows onto the courtyard at night without difficulty. Rooms were quiet and vey comfortable to sleep in. Staff is sparse but helpful. Breakfast is minimal but enough to get you going. This hotel has a great price point for the area. Notre Dame is 10 minutes walk. The Louvre is about 15 minutes. The area around St Michel is lively with many shops, resturants and bars. Lots of side streets to explore. The hotelis comfortable and very nicely located for someone who is looking to see the main sights in Paris for the first time.

Short walk from hotel
There are tons of choices for dining but the cost varies considerably from place to place. Check the menus (and the prices) before sitting down to dine. Rustic Pizza near St Micheal was a nice quick stop for some fast lunch. Tennesse has on St-Germain just up from the hotel has a varied menu with reasonable prices. We enjoyed very much sitting outside even though the weather was a bit chilly.

Wonderful experience.
This hotel was in the perfect location for our trip to Paris. We could walk to most main attractions like The Louvre, Notre Dame, The Cluny Museum and Boulevard St. Germain with all the famous cafes. It was close to the Sorbonne and wonderful brasseries with excellent Parisian food. The hotel provides a magnificent breakfast that kept us fueled all day. Overall, it was a great room, food and location. Highly recommend.

Rue de Buci down the hill from the hotel has great markets and small cafes and brasseries. After a late night cognac, you can easily walk back to the Hotel Left Bank.

The Best of St. Germain
A lovely hotel with lots of European charm. Although technically in St Germain, it is closer to St. Michel. Had a wonderful view of St. Chappelle from our window, which was complete with windowbox full of blooming flowers. Perfect location and convenient to metro stops, buses, shopping and superb dining, all within a 5 minute walk. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful, always ready with excellent directions and recommendations. Delicious breakfast served each morning, with lots of choices, excellent coffee. Could not have made a better choice, even at a higher price.

Restaurant Vagenende, 142 Blvd St. Germain. Unassuming from the outside, the restaurant is beautiful inside, food is excellent, and wait staff is quick and courteous. Fills quickly at dinnertime, so arrive before 7:30.

Left Bank-St. Germain
The hotel rooms are small but charming with timbered ceilings. Request a room at the back with a view of Notre Dame. The neighborhood is ideal for walking and museums. It's very relaxed and friendly.

Location. Location. Location.
Hotel staff were very accomodating. Helped with the French language and didn't berate you for not having a total command of the language. Did everything to make the stay pleasant. Suggested places to eat and answered questions about the Metro, etc. Breakfast in the morning was a real treat and helped set the pace for the day. You can buy tour tickets at the hotel which saves you a trip to the right bank ticket locations. Felt very safe at night walking around the area of the hotel. Great restaurants within short walk of the hotel. While we were there they were having a problem with the elevator. In all it was not working for parts of 3 days. However the staff was working diligently to have it repaired and were even taking guests' bags up to their rooms.

Buy the Metro Pass if you are going to do a lot of sightseeing. Good for Metro, Bus and Train. Most travel is done within the 3 zones and price is economical. Very easy to use. Metro station is only about 100 yards from hotel. We got full use of the pass over the 6-days we used it.
