Nice Hotel excelent staff

WELL LOCATED (2 blocks from metro, eifel tower, restaurants, super market, sunday market). Quite and good staff. It is a ... small hotel where you fell at home, not fancy, but very clean and classy. The restroom are signed by Versace.

When I arrived at 10 p.m. on a rainy night I was told I had no reservation. My[...]confirmation number was of no help. The ... only staff was a temp; nice but not particularly equipped to deal with the situation. Luckily a room was available. The next day the mystery was solved - they had booked me on the correct dates, but the wrong year. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet (although it was on the interior; not sure if a street room would have been louder). Plenty of places to eat within a very short walk. Free access to a fitness club and Wi-Fi. Pretty pricey, but that's Paris.

The Eiffel Tower, was within walking distance as well as many shops and retaurants. We took the train to Notre Dame and Sainte Chapel. There was a train station close to the hotel as well as by the Eiffel Tower. I highly recommend staying here.

Great Stay in Paris
Anne K Sep 30, 2009
The staff at the hotel were very friendly. We just loved the neighborhood - you could be at the metro in 2 minutes. At night ... we would walk to the Eiffel Tower to watch the light show on the hour. There is a wonderul company nearby (Fat Tire Bike Tours) that took us on a 4 hour tour of major sites and gave us some fun history. In the morning, we would stop by the local cafe near the metro for a croque madame and cafe creme. In the afternoon, we would come back to the hotel for a rest and bath, then venture out for the evening.

Cleanliness Made It The Best Stay Ever
traveling2 Sep 20, 2009
This hotel was a little difficult for us to find, but it was well worth the effort! It was spottlessly clean! It had very ... nice furnishings and a small balcony. The room was rather small, but it was all you need if you are planning on touring the sites. It had a refrigerator in the room with drinks and a set price for everything in it. It was very resonable and handy. The room was decorated very modern and they were repainting while we were there. They seem to stay on top of renovations.

Ares is a Great place to stay!
Catherine Sep 8, 2009
The hotel was fabulous! Staff at the front desk were very helpful and all spoke English. The rooms were beautiful, the beds ... divine, the bath spacious and exquisite, and all on a very quiet street. The place smelled great too. We were just a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower so could easily walk to some sites. The Metro is also close by and easy to use. The neighborhood also had several nice cafes. The first one we went to was so good, we ate their several times.

Not too fancy but nice
Charlie Aug 14, 2009
Nice clean hotel with the feel of a small town hotel. You pick up and turn in your room key each time you come and go. It is ... an electronic key with a plastic tag that you insert inside the room to turn on power the lights. This makes it nice when you leave because it turns off all the lights for you. We tried the breakfast once. It was nice but nothing special and we wanted to try other cafes in the area. We understand that some of the larger rooms even have a view of the tower, but those rooms are intended for more than 2 people. We enjoyed our stay and would recommended to others.

We loved our room on the 6th floor. Very modern, very clean, very chic. We didn't have the basic room, maybe it was called ... superior. Especially loved the bathroom. Room was not large but large enough. Loved the area-- lots of cafes, close by metro, Eiffel tower close by. Would stay again--would recommend it to everyone except those who need a lot of services. We did not need valet, bellboy, etc.

at the corner of the street by the metro is a great cafe for breakfast. Omelets, great coffee, fast service, English! Don't eat breakfast at the Hotel. In the opposite direction was a seafood cafe "Suffren" that was great for dinner and then a walk to the tower at night.

A Parisian Gem
Happy sailors Jul 19, 2009
A lovely boutique hotel on a quiet street with great dining, sight seeing and shopping a short walk away. The staff are ... extremely friendly and helpful and housekeeping is top notch. After staying at a hotel across town in the Latin district where we heard street noise all night, we appreciated the quiet neighborhood here. The room was lovely and romantic, perfect for our anniversary trip. The large, airy bathroom was nicely done, with separate tub and shower, double sinks and heated towel rack. If you are an antique lover, there is a fabulous collection of antique shops just a few steps away.

Exquisite!

We are a famly of 3; a couple (50s) & our adult daughter (23). It is not very easy to find accomodations in Paris that meet ... our needs & price range. Hotel Ares was quite lovely. The room itself was small (as we have found throughout the EU), but both the beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom, however, was devine; tub, stall shower, & double sinks! Decoration is not only plush & pretty, but comfortable & functional. The staff were all very helpful & tolerant of our terrible attempts at French. We were rushed on arrival to meet a tour but our room was ready early & a taxi called for us in a matter of minutes. Transportation on the Metro is just a quick walk away & very convenient. We had only one mishap; staying too long at the Eiffel Tower & missing the last train back to La Motte station (01:00 am). We thought initially that the morning buffet was pricey, but we really didn't do much better (price-wise) in the local cafes. So I would consider the convenience might well be worth it, if you're hungry & in a hurry. All-in-all, a wonderful stay!

A perfect location!
Doug and Karen Jun 1, 2009
This small boutique hotel is first class in every way. Rooms are generously sized for Paris and spotless. The front desk ... staff is very helpful and their restaurant recommendations were terrific. But, perhaps best of all is the location--a quiet residential neighborhood, three blocks to a major Metro transfer station, just a couple to lots of restaurants, bars and shops and about a fifteen minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. If you are new to Paris, by the Eiffel Tower is a great place to catch a boat ride along the Seine, which we would highly recommend. If you don't care about large hotel amenities like fitness center and bar/restaurant, we would highly recommend this one. The hotel also arranged for the Shuttle from the airport which, at 39 euros for both of us, was a good value. If you plan to go to one of the museums, like Musee d'Orsay, you would be well advised to buy your admission tickets on line before you go. You need to allow time for the tickets to be sent. Otherwise you will find a three hour line.

We went to Paris to celebrate anniversary and left the kids at home. We wanted a quiet hotel with nice ammenities and great ... location to all the sights. Ares fit the bill on paper and lived up to our expectations during the trip. We had a superior room that was clean, comfortable, quiet, and very nicely decorated. Metro stops were close to get you everywhere you needed in the city, but was easy walking distance to some great bistro, shopping, and sights. Highly recommended.
