Hotel Windsor

Hotel Windsor was a good place to stay in Nice. It was convenient to most sights and was an interesting hotel because of it's art. The room and bathroom were small, but clean. It would have been nice if the breakfast were included in the price. When booking a room, try to get one which faces the garden.

The Windsor is an excellent place to stay while seeing Nice. Best for its location, only 4 blocks or so from the beach front, and surrounded by restaurants and a beautiful city. The staff was responsive and knowledgeable. Great breakfast - although not included in the room price. Only problem we found were the beds; rather hard and, for one of our 3 rooms, we needed to change the room since the bed was too uncomfortable.

The guy that checked me in, from the Netherlands, was extremely friendly and helpful. Very big smile, spoke excellent English, and was most welcoming. Hotel room was a decent size, clean, and beds were comfortable for European standards. My only complaints were: No wash cloths (somewhat typical for non-American chain European hotels)and bathroom was a bit small. Free WiFi in the room was great and worked well. My room was on the street, but the windows had excellent sound proofing so did not hear any street noise. A/C worked decently well..rooms weren't cold but held steady in the mid 70s. I could sleep easily, even when the daytime highs were in the mid 80s. Courtyard area is nice and lush, with a pool. For a non-American chain hotel, this was a quite pleasant stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. A long walk from Old Nice, but fairly close to the beach. Close enough to the train station to wheel a small amount of luggage. The French national staff weren't quite as warm and helpful and English wasn't as strong. Chamber maids were very nice and always said Bonjour when they saw me in the halls. Breakfast is 12 Euro per person, and has a decent selection of meats, cheeses, breads, cerials, juices, scrambled eggs, and yogurts.

Hotel was easy to find and from day one the staff was very helpful, I might have read the car parking situation wrong but a day ticket costs 24Euro's in a commercial lot that's 500meters from the Hotel. I definitely would suggest to upgrade to a Seduction level room and skip the 12Euro breakfast as there's a 'Boulanger' down the street. My first night I stayed in a Creation level room which wasn't remotely as comfortable as the Seduction. I wouldn't plan to stay there for the pool availability but it was nice for a dive after an afternoon run. We're glad we experienced the Windsor. Fun-D

deco amusante aussi bien dans les chambres que dans les salons - jardin intérieur et piscine - le personnel est trés pro , gentil et dévoué petit déjeuner assez cher 13€ par personne J'avais réglé 70€ la nuit par EE BOOKERS et mon compte bancaire a bien été débité de ce pris, mais l’hôtesse m'a indiqué que le prix de la chambre réservée n'était que de 51€ ????? nous avions une minuscule chambre, que nous avons dû changer pour une autre plus grande mais avec 20€ par nuit de supplément.
