This is a budget hotel and as such not in the best area but very close to the main railway station. It is great value but IS a 3 star hotel, don't expect too much. I would stay again.

All about atmosphere....
I was not impressed by Hotel St Gothard, even though we had clean sheets and the bathroom was clean, the rug was stained and there was a very "weird" smell in the room, which actually attached itself to our clothes. Some of the Hotel staff were very nice and helpful but some were not very friendly and were not forthcoming with information regarding our stay. I believe the breakfast is overpriced as you got your choice of beverages and your usual "high carb" breakfast of croissants/baguette and butter/jam. Not impressed for the price x's 3!! Overall Nice is not a relaxing place...Very beautiful but looks can be deceiving...

Very friendly, great breakfast
This was a great bargain for the money. Although there was no outlet in my room, the folks at the desk were happy to charge my phone, etc. for me. Huge breakfast room, very good, copious breakfast with seconds. And this was included in the price! Room was small, but had a balcony, which was nice. It was only about a block from the main train station, a very short walk, and had an excellent restaurant (La Petite Biche) across the street, as well as snack shops and a small grocery nearby. It is only a block from the main commercial street of Nice (and future tramway), and about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach and/or the Old Town. About 2 blocks away, across from the east end of the train station, is a cheap scooter/car rental place I've used several times. All in all, a great inexpensive place to stay.

Le chambre du hotel n'ete pas equipe avec des rideau qui fonctionnez ou avec de vollets pour le fenetre et le rideau du douche etaiat vraiment sale .

Hotel non distante dal centro
Hotel non distante dal centro nè dal lungomare.Camere piccole ma con un buon letto. Colazione normale (occhio alla scadenza del burro). Personale cordiale (unico neo il pagamento per tenere le valigie in hotel dopo il check out). Risultato: hotel buono per poche pretese, per soggiorni brevi è l'ideale, hotel conveniente.

The hotel is too old without any
The hotel is too old without any fridges or free WIFI. The service isn't good enough. The staff persuaded us to join the local tour to Monaco.
