Hotel Albert 1er Nice France
For the money, about 110 euros/night, it was as good as I could have expected. It was one block from the sea and clean. However, no lobby, no chair in which to sit in the room and the breakfast was overpriced at 12 euros for a continental one. A better one was available on the Promenade for 8 euros. Still, to have a room on the Nice waterfront for 110 euros a night was fine and I'd stay there again.

short weekend break
Booked the hotel at the last minute and chose this mainly for the location, which couldn't have been more perfect. Literally steps away from the promenade & less than 2 mins from the flower market in the heart of the old town. Everything was on my doorstep! If you get the chance, ask for a room with a seaview - I was lucky to get one on the 6th floor (room 607) which partially overlooked massena sq but the balcony was great for catching those last rays of sun whilst having a glass of vino! The facilities in the room were good, though some brew making facilities would have been good but I suppose those are not provided to encourage you to have breakfast at the hotel. This was €12 a day, which was a little steep in my view & I chose to eat out every day for considerably less. The staff were really helpful & pleasant - all in all I had a really enjoyable stay & would recommend it to anyone.

great location
We visit Nice for a family vocation. Hotel has a great location, one block from the beach with an excellent view from the room. Unfortunately, building is poorly renovated; room was small with unpleasant smell from the bathroom; old furniture and poor amenities.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
if you park overnight at one of the garages the kiosks don't take euros larger than 20 and on Sunday none of the underground shops where open to break a 50...so you have to run up to the square to break it...OR you can use a credit card at the gate

Don’t bother. The building is
Don’t bother. The building is on a major street, it's very old with uneven floors and there was an unpleasant smell in the room (must be the carpet). The lift is slow and can only accommodate 1 person with a large suitcase. There’s better value, service and facilities elsewhere.

Albert 1er is a vey nice budget
Albert 1er is a vey nice budget hotel. It is very well located, facing a park, one block away from the beach and two blocks away from the Massena Square that is the heart of Nice. I will definitively stay there when I go back to Nice.

Location of the hotel exellent
Location of the hotel exellent - next to Promenade des Anglais. Breakfast was quite good in french standards. Having a room in the 1. floor is not a good idea - there was extremely loud music one night coming from the bar next to the hotel. We were able to change the room to the 3. floor, which was okay.
