CAMPANILE NICE - Aéroport

We stayed at the hotel for one night prior to early morning flight and was disappointed. The hotel advertised shuttle service which turned out to be an airport shuttle that dropped us off at a stop about 5 minute walk late at night. No morning shuttle until 6:30 AM so we had to walk about ten minutes at 5:30 in the morning. Room was very small, but reasonably clean, but hallway noise was noticeable. I would try another airport hotel when next in Nice.

Five min. walk to airport, but also free shuttle. Long bus ride to downtown, but only cost 1 euro each. Dispite closeness to airport room was quite. Other hotels not listed on line were cheaper if you want to take the chance of arrival with no room waiting.

I would have liked 24hr access to laundry service. Location is good only because you can walk to the Nice airport from the hotel, however, there are no nearby entertainment or dining alternatives. Stay here only if you need a cheap one night layover in Nice. Bare bones amenities; It's a bed and a bathroom. Free WiFi was slow.

The hotel Campanile was good value, 5 minutes from Nice airport and, unlike most hotels at this price, had an active and interesting restaurant. If you have time, it's just a short taxi ride into Nice and the famous promenade des Anglais!

I chose this because it is close to the airport, I could turn in my rental auto the evening before, and easily get to an early morning departure. I called before from Provence before arriving to ask about the shuttle and was assured they had one. After I turned in my car, I rolled my luggage to the inter-terminal airport shuttle--a short distance--and asked about the hotel navette. A much longer walk away on a hot day, the sign suggested calling the hotel from inside the terminal. Halfway back to the original point, I called the hotel from the Information desk and was told to take the Free Terminal shuttle, that the hotel's navette would not leave for another hour. Get off at the Arenas and it was a short walk to the Campanile. There are three blue glass buildings, one of which is the Campanile,beyond the Etap, but name not visible from that approach. A long pull! Hot and tired, I had asked a taxi to take me, but none would take me. Minimum charge was 25 euros. Navette--free. I asked about the morning shuttle which leaves at 6:;30. The desk people assured me I would have time for breakfast at 6:00 a.m.and that the bus took only five minutes, which it did. I checked in fine because the Fast Bag and security check was fast at that hour, in spite of the E-ticket warnings to allow MUCH more time for each procedure. I was able to print out my e-tkt at the lobby computer for a charge, supposedly 8 euros, plus schedule breakfast for another 8 euros quoted by the day girls at reception. The night clerk assured me he would awaken me in time. I paid up--neither extra charge had been booked, but by the time I unpacked, computed and paid, it was 9:50 p.m and the restaurant closed at 10. Coffee, tea, and cookies at the hot pot in the room sufficed. I slept well, had a full fast breakfast and made it off to London in time--a nervous wreck.

This was a great hotel for the price they charge. It was inexpensive and had shuttles 4:30 AM to night. There was a good size room, no noisy, easy access to center of the city. Would highly recommend for folks for a night prior to departure.
