Renovated hotel by Old Town and the beach

The Beau Rivage Hotel & Plage, steps from the beach, Old Town, and the Promenade des Anglais, has been fully refurbished and is in excellent condition. The 4-star hotel, built in 1860, counted Matisse, Fitzgerald, Nietzsche, and Checkov among its clientele. At the beginning of the 21st century, famous French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte completely renovated the Hotel Beau Rivage. The hotel has an appealing lobby and lounge bar (Les Galets), private beach with sundeck and seasonal restaurant/bar, and well-equipped meeting rooms.

Really nice hotel.

Really great staff, located one to two blocks away from the main square, the old square, and the promenade des anglais (what we call a boardwalk in the USA). This is a good balance because you don't ever have to walk far and at the same time, it is much quieter than being ABOVE these important places. Great restaurants 1 block away.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Le Grand Balcon was my favorite restaurant, recommended by the staff, and very nearby.

Weekend away

It's in a great location, stumbling distance from the old town and bars/restaurants of the Marche aux Fleurs. The hotel is OK, not quite as "boutique" as I had expected and could do with a revamp. Our room was very small, but had everything more or less. Just needed a bit of tidying up - I bet 5 years ago it would have been very smart.

my wife and I were disappointed

my wife and I were disappointed with our stay at the Beau Rivage. The room was small;in need of TLC and over priced in terms of "value for money". This review was submitted after a seven week holiday in Europe and staying in 4-4.5 star hotels and it is a meaningful comparison with all the other hotels.

An "old" building very well restored

An "old" building very well restored in a strategic location... I would say "a Design hotel", not only in the reception, but also in the room..... Really one of my favorite hotels in Nice (but usually it is too expensive, unfortunately).
