this is one of the best hotels in lyon, clearly. we visited several others. i highly recommend it. it's clean, perfect location and excellent breakfast, though it's an extra charge.

very nice
this is an excellent hotel, situated right in the center of Lyon, and easy walking distance to the historic center. the rooms are comfortable, the food good. i'd highly recommend staying here, though the price is a bit high. it is well worth it. perhaps the best place in Lyon.

Perfect Location for Special Hotel
Located on Place Bellecour, the Hotel Le Royal Lyon is near the middle of Presque L'Ilse with a short walk to Vieux Lyon, close to the funicular station, and close to the Rhone River.. Also, a metro stop is in the Place. The hotel itself is a well cared for grand dame. Lovely public spaces are decorated in blue and white. Our spacious standard room had 2 huge double window, red velvet on white wall coverings, and a modern stone tiled bathroom. The staff was most helpfully and accommodating, if a little formal. Breakfast was worth getting at the hotel.

The Gare du Perache station, one of the TGV bullet train stations in Lyon, is very close to the hotel, and only two metro stops away on the A line.

Vieux Lyon has great shops and the dining is excellent, too. 14 Fevrier expensive but superior dining experience. Magali et Martin great place as well -- cheaper. Also shopping in Vieux Lyon well worth the short walk,

Perfect Lyon
I was in town for business, but what an extraordinary delight to see Lyon and stay in such a beautiful property as well. Prime location to see the quaint yet historic area of the city. I venture to stay again.

Lyon is known for the chefs that come from its culinary school, more so than the Cordon Bleu in Paris. You will rarely go wrong when dining in Lyon.

Le confort d un 5 étoiles au prix d un 3 étoiles. Tout est parfait. Service de voiturier, bagages montés en chambre, service en chambre. Nous n avons pas testé le petit déjeuner.

Tout était parfait : de la chambre à la salle du petit déjeuner, aux petites attentions (les cannelés du soir : un régal !) ; le personnel efficace et souriant ; et le petit déjeuner particulièrement remarquable ; à recommander !!!
