Booked this hotel as it was on special offer and close to the city centre. It turned out that in fact it was a building comprising of small independent rooms with washroom and a kitchenette. TV in the room had internet based system connected which
had no English channels and those in the system such as the BBC etc. had no signal. The hotel reception was closed when I arrived at 7 p.m and someone told me that I had to ring a number from my own phone to find out about my booking. My UK phone could not dial that number for some reason and I had to request a local resident to call that number for me which he so kindly did. I was then given instructions on the phone as to how I could get my room keys. Once inside the hotel there was a strong stench of what I can describe only as a mixture of dampness, rotten eggs and coffee. Once inside the room the view from the window was a dense tree branches covering the whole of the window and through them I could see a motorway about 50 yards away. In the end I found out from local residents that most of the rooms are occupied by long-term residents either private or from the local homeless community. I can describe my experience in two words Never Again!
