The hotel Ibis la Rochelle centre though situated in the heart of la Rochelle,in close proximity to the old port and to other amenities, it is discreetly tucked away from the traffic noise. The double room given to us was rather small and basic. the closet for the clothes was open plan, the television did not have any Channels in English language. the toilet seat in the bathroom was broken. provision of a small fridge or facilities to make tea or coffee would have been welcome.There was no provision of a safe to leave ones valuables in. The breakfast was buffet style and with ample choice. The staff at the hotel was courteous and helpful. In my opinion, it is a good choice for a long week-end but no more than that

the old port only round the corner, is bustling with life and has numerous rstaurants to cater for all tastes. seafood restaurants are many and reasonably prized
