The whole place was very dirty. I immediately picked up the bedspread and blanket from the bed and took it to reception, telling them I would not stay more than the one night. The carpet was visibly filthy, windows dirty with hand and face prints,
curtains dirty and dusty. The shower and toilet seat were broken. Cigarette burns were on all the furniture and toilet. The shower was dirty and broken, as was the toilet seat. The plastic cup, which should have been sealed in plastic, had actually been washed (?) and replaced in the bag; there were water spots on this supposedly brand new cup. There was only one towel for 2 people. This was the most miserable place I have ever been, and not anywhere near Marseille or the airport I wish I could give negative stars; you forced me to give it one in order to complete this survey. I would not give it any.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
There are many small, nice, and clean hotels in Provence, and the demand is not as great as I feared. It is easy to walk around a city or drive down a small highway and find a place to stay. Many are very quaint and delightful places, often with meals offered. Don't be afraid to strike out from the big city chains.
