Best Western Astoria

This hotel's in a great location, with the beach at the end of the street and the train station at the other end. The room was clean and tidy and air-conditioned with a balcony overlooking the carpark; don't expect a seaview! Our room smelt of smoke on arrival, we requested a change but there was no other option. Make sure you request a smoking/non-smoking room on booking. We enjoyed our stay in Juan les Pins, a couple of nights here is enough but Nice and Cannes are both about 20 mins away and there's a lot more to do in both of these places. The beaches are lovely, most of the beach in Juan les Pins is taken over with private sunloungers that you have to pay for; about 15euro per day. There's a public beach further down which is free. But it's sandy, unlike the stony beach in Nice.

This hotel is ideally located close to the railway station and to the beach. Many excellent restaurants within walking distance. This is a great hotel to serve as a base for seeing the French/Italian Riviera. We stayed for two weeks and traveled by train on 11 days!! We visited Antibes, Nice, Cannes, St. Paul, Avignon, Grasse, Ventimiglia, Genoa/Cinque-Terre, plus many nice walks in Juan les Pins.The staff is very helpful and the service was excellent. My only complaint was that it was a bit noisy because of the really loud motor scooters/cycles zooming up the street in the wee hours. Having a balcony was also great!!It's a bit far from the airport and, if you have to catch an early flight, the cab fare is terrible! But, there is a shuttle service that's very reasonable if your flight out is in the morning/afternoon. There is bus service available from the airport but if you have large suitcases, it can be a problem on the bus. Can't beat the fare, though (1.30 euro)!! There was also a supermarket a short distance away and a laundry and internet site that sells really good phone cards (calls back to the US were less than 3 cents per minute!!) just a block away. Very close to the beach.

Lovely hotel just minutes to beach. Nice, bright room with balcony. Staff helpful and car park in back very convenient.

Requested double bed not provided until Day 2 of stay. Room safe not working (entire hotel the same). No hot water at busy times. Staff very courteous and later checkout (by 2.5hours) agreed when requested.

We stayed here for 5 nights in Nov 2010. Staff were helpful, room was clean, room was made daily. But room smelt strongly like wet carpet, however after lengthy airing it went away in two days. Parking was charged at $15EUR per day (no vans or trucks will fit) and there are 10 spots for a hotel of 49 rooms. Recommend you to book parking ahead. Views from room were of the back of other apartment blocks/hotels, separated by the car park and garden (but we were only in the room to sleep so didn't mind). A good location to stay if you want to see Antibes and stay in the area for a good price as the hotel is a 20min walk from Antibes. There are plenty of local shops for your daily needs nearby. Overall experience was good and will stay here again.

Very good 3* hotel and excellent location for train, beach and restaurants. Breakfast @ €10 expensive for what you get.

The hotel has a brilliant location in a quiet street only 100m from beach and 200m from town centre. Since my last visit the hotel has been refurbished so no smell of cat pee from the carpets! A great improvement. Limited parking available but better than nothing.
