What more do you need than somewhere cheap and basic to get your head down and leave your stuff. After all I was here for the football and experience in the city not the room. Hotel room was basic but clean, tidy and comfortable. The shower was
excellent. The staff were helpful and as long as you say bonjour, merci and au revoir they'll appreciate the effort. The tram stop is right outside the front door and you can get a day ticket for less than 5 Euros. The station is a 5 minute walk (well it might be 6 minutes but you get what I mean).
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Get the tram, it's cheap, convienient and a breeze to get about!!! Day ticket was less than 5 Euros.
This Hotel is a great place for those who just need a place to sleep. The tram stop is located almost right in front of the door and the hotel is within walking distance of the train station. The staff were very friendly(although it should be
noted that only 1 of the 4 front desk workers we encountered spoke English to us) and the front desk is open 24 hours which is very convenient. Some drawbacks were the following: No plug-ins in the room we were in except for the TV and for razors; the bathroom smelled pretty bad and the shower was really small; when you pick up your key(you have to leave it at the desk when you leave for the day and then you pick it up when you get back) the front desk worker does not check any ID to make sure that it is in fact your room; because the hotel is close to the tram there is some noise but it isn't too bad; and the breakfast is pretty expensive(about 8 euros) although we did not try it so we cannot say whether or not it is worth it. Overall though, it is a nice hotel for how cheap it is. We would stay there again.
