Average hotel, nothing special
I stayed here for six days. The room I got was a standard, which was a bit small. The bed was a full size, but the pillows were hard, small and uncomfortable. The window blinds did a very poor job of blocking out the light so being able to sleep in darkness was not possible. The overall comfort of the room was not up to par for a 4-star hotel. I paid 140 euros per night. Perhaps staying at another hotel would have given me a little bit more comfort.

It was the third time we stayed at Marski, and we do it because it is a good hotel in the absolute center of Helsinki. Great restaurants and good shopping within walking distance, and good public transportation around the city. Try Bellevue for a good meal, and Stockmann across the street for shopping. We will go to Marski next time again..

Great location near central train station
Stayed 3 nights in this central Helsinki hotel for the Flow Festival 2012. It was situated near the central train station and near the Finnair Airport Bus drop off site. The breakfast spread was pretty big and included both warm (eggs etc) and cold items (fresh yogurt). Getting to the rooms was a bit different, as there are two sections of the hotel, we were in the second section. We had to take the elevator in the lobby to the 3rd floor. Then walk along a walkway to the latter part of the hotel. Not a big deal though. Bottom line is that the hotel is central to all of Helsinki and a great place to stay.

Satisfactory hotel in Great Location
The hotel facility is somewhat dated. Good by regular European standards. The beds are small. We had a deluxe room which was large by European standards, but small by American experience. Very nice Breakfast Buffet and free internet.

When Location is Important
Great location across the street from Helsinki's largest department store (Stockmann's). Great area for shopping and dining. Close proximity to Esplanade Park for nice walks in the evening and when heading toward the harbor area. Hotel room faced atrium, which kept things quiet, but view wasn't any good. Actually it didn't seem like much privacy with the windows facing other rooms and hallways....felt claustrophobic! Breakfast was plentiful with large selection. No pool and sauna area was small without an attendant. Other than location, nothing really stood out about this hotel to make it special in any way.

9 Summer Nights at Hotel Marski
The hotel's central location accross the street from Helsinki's best department store Stockmann was unbeatable. We enjoyed it very much. The organic breakfast with a variety of foods was great. I had concerns about street noise before our trip and my worst fears materialized during our stay. Our room was in the new wing on the second floor by Yrjonkatu that is a street parallel to the main street Mannerheimintie. There was a lot of street noise making it difficult to sleep. The hotel was full so it was not possible to change a room. It was great to have a private sauna off the bathroom. It appears that the member's of Scandic's freaquent quest program were getting the best service and rooms. I will join it if I stay in this hotel again.

Perfect location
Having stayed in the hotel many times times knew what to expect. Room little tight for two people for 10 days. Breakfast is great and sitting in bar area very relaxing. There seems to be very limitted staffing as getting someone on the phone took many calls and time. Housekeeping was sloppy but bathroom was clean and towels changed regularly. Location is the best with easy access to public transportation and center.

A fine week in Helsinki..
They've taken care of all the things that really matter--morning breakfast was excellent, room design and amenities were great (even our 'standard' room was just fine) and if you're planning to see Helsinki, the central location was perfect. Even taxi arrangements at 4:15am went without a hitch. We'd stay again. (This isn't a 'canned' review--I'm a real tourist!)
