Pure Fiji and relaxing.

This Hotel was exactly what we were looking for to wind down. Not too big that you are just a number and not too small that you can get away if you want too. (to the beach that hardly anyone uses). The pool is small and if the resort was full there would not be enough room for everyone. But when we were there it wasn't a problem. The employees are friendly but not overly so. The food was good but not outstanding. We didn't eat breakfast but ate lunch by the pool. The main restaurant only serves a pri fixe meal. Lunches were good. The snorkel trip we went on was fantastic and pretty reasonable for the price. Peter was great on getting the coconuts from the tree and cracking them open. The Hotel is being fixed up and you can see the effort. Rooms were impeccably clean. A little tight when we were both in the room but we tried not to be. On the whole would go back in a heart beat. Extremely relaxing.

If you are hungry go for the 3 course pri-fixe meal. For me I just ordered the main meal and only paid about F$40. Or you can eat the lunch menu from 10am-5pm and it is good and reasonably priced if on a budget. Bring snacks from mainland. There is a small fridge in your room. Compared to Australia where we just visited this was very reasonably priced.

Amunuca holidays

We did activities such snorkeling, trip to another island, kayaking, swimming in the ocean and in the pool. You can do as much or as less as you want. We contract the meal plan (119 FJD per day) and I think it was too much, it is good if you eat a lot or maybe if you are going with children (29 FJD), because of th price.

Needs Attention

Amunuca could be a fine resort but is sorely lacking in good management and attention to the details. First impression is important. The grass thatchings on the roofs of many of the buildings were missing. Checking into the resort was chaotic. The rooms were adequate but in the 3 days we were there, the garbage can in our room was not emptied. The resort needs an experienced chef. The food was not up to standard and was pricey. We could not eat without flies swarming around. There are simple and easy fixtures to that problem. Other than kayaks, there were no other water activities. Not great for families. The dive shop was open for snorkelling gear but was not operating for dive or snorkelling tours due to an issue with their boat. We have been to several resorts in the Mamanuca Islands and were very disappointed with Amunuca. We cannot recommend this resort.
