The hotel is located in the very heart of Tallinn, right at the gates of its medieval Old Town. It Viru offers a wide range of opportunities for business-travelers as well as for people on holiday. The hotel includes comfortable hotel rooms, a contemporary conference centre, a big restaurant world and also a beauty centre and saunas (hourly rate). The hotel offers 516 comfortable and modern rooms with a view of the sea or to the city. Also there are special rooms for allergic guests and for people with physical disabilities. There are separate floors for smokers and non-smokers. Also there are special rooms for allergic guests and for people with physical disabilities. For families with children the hotel offers cozy family rooms with special amenities. The conference facilities can accommodate a total of up to 1000 participants at a time. All hotel rooms boast free of charge Internet connection. The conference centre is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel. convienent, but needs improvement

I stayed at the hotel for 6 days for business. On the first day I leaned that I needed to buy shampoo. They had body/hand soap, but that was all. The bathroom was not clean and the room floor was dusty. Two lamps did not work. I was too busy to ask them to take care of these problems. But the staff members who speak English were helpful and kind. The last BIG problem I had was that they refused to give me a receipt. Since I paid to Orbits (according to the hotel staff), they could not give me the receipt. I do not know if this is Orbits problem or the hotel problem. I will not stay this hotel again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sokos Hotel Viru Tallinn. The hotel is located in one of the best positions for exploring Tallinn's famous Old Town and is also attached to a wider shopping centre and restaurant complex. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay and the room was very comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was good and plentiful. There were always taxis available outside the hotel - not every hotel in Tallinn can say this, and it can be important when you need to get somewhere in a hurry. Overall, strongly recommended - with the added bonus of an excellent KGB musuem within the hotel itself, with guides explaining the role and life of the hotel during the Soviet era, which should be a must-visit for any guest.

Sokos Viru is perfectly situated

Sokos Viru is perfectly situated near the old town and within the same complex of two of Tallinn's popular night clubs (The Cat house and Amigo). The hotel is a bit old and the rooms are quite small but its adequate for a weekend or short stay and is comparatively well priced. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Excellent location only 5 mins

Excellent location only 5 mins walk from the Old Town. Breakfast buffet was excellent & all the staff were friendly & helpful. No hesitations about staying here again if we ever returned to Tallinn.
