Situated on one of Tallinn's oldest boulevards, the Meriton Old Town Hotel is a treasure built into the original old city wall. With a picturesque environment and a combination of modern architecture and pseudo-gothic abundance of detail, we are able to provide you with a truly unique and memorable stay in Estonia's vibrant capital. The city's most attractive locations, whether business or leisure are at your doorsteps, and the hotel's surroundings breathe history. With 41 cozy rooms spread over four floors and the attic, the hotel is ideal for individual tourists or small groups. With 38 double rooms, the Meriton Old Town Hotel also offers 6 unique and spacious rooms, 2 of which have balconies and are known as the Bella Vita rooms. All rooms have a telephone, TV-set (Sat TV), minibar, shower, 3 rooms also have a bath. There is a Wi-Fi connection in many rooms. Bella Vita rooms also offer tea/coffee making facilities and the house is equipped with a lift.
The interior design of the lobby and the dining hall connects medieval and modern styles. A contemporary room solution has been placed between historical walls; natural materials are adorned with modern accents. From 1340 to 1355, one of the towers of the historical city wall, the Renten Tower, was located at the site of the Meriton Old Town Hotel. The tower perished in 1880 and the current building was built on the foundation of the tower. One of the most unique features of the hotel is its close proximity to a horse mill, which dates back to the first half of the 14th century and belongs to the 78 most interesting objects in our medieval capital.
The hotel provides facilities like Airport Shuttle, Free breakfast, Handicap Rooms, Room Service, Wireless Internet, Smoke-Free Property.

Pretty good value, staff helpful but in need of signage and fine tuning of facilities
On the plus side: Staff helpful and friendly. I arrived quite late and was 'desperate' for a cup of tea or hot water and the staff member obtained me a kettle. TV remote didnt work: staff came up to my room to check. I could not find bottle opener
for bar fridge items. (by now i am beginning to sound like the guest everyone dreads) anyway, the staff member couldn't find it either and so came up with a bottle opener to personally open my bottle for me!, Incidentally i eventually found a wall mounted bottle opener in the bathroom. if only there had been some indication about this eg a note on the bar fridge! Good location. Breakfast was varied and comparable with other hotels I have stayed at.
A nice surprise was the access to the pool and spa facilities. These are located a15 minute walk away, but then if you feel like an early morning swim, a walk seems to go well with it. Room was clean.
No so good: Wifi access was erratic which meant I had to keep going out into the hall, not just outside the door. Pretty annoying and inconvenient.
The key didn't work very well and actually had to be reset.
Room was very cramped and also quite hot, but to be fair I think the warm summer has hit many northern European hotels hard!
Nothing too fancy, but clean, quiet and tucked nicely into a corner of the Old Town close enough to walk to everything but removed enough to be spared noise from late night revellers. Nice old building too!
Rooms are small - but OK for a single person (beds are average size)
Bathrooms are also small
Breakfast was great
Front Desk staff not helpful when asking for directions or local sightseeing activities
But for only £22 per night
(special deal at the time), it is fantastic for the value
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Just wonder around the Old Town, its beautiful and with the massive church right near your hotel - you always have a visible landmark to get home :)
