Perfect hotel to see the Pyramids at Giza

Excellent location if you are going to Egypt to see the pyramids. You can sit at the pool and have a cocktail and stare at the Great Pyramid. Very reasonable prices for the location and upscale hotel. The hotel was good for families, but Egypt itself isn't the best place for small children to visit.

A pleasant stay

It's greatly located near to the pyramids if you plan to visit them more than twice. Has a nice swimming pool with great view to the pyramids, a nice jacuzzi, and gym. A con is that free wifi access is only available around the lobby.

My experience at Le Meridien Pyramides

We had a good experience but the hotel is like a community place for parties. Each night there was at least one weeding and lots of noice, One ngihtt threre were 3. We cannot stay in the lobby for all the noice. Staff were not kind as the hotel deserve. the Internet was interrupted many times. Hotel was clean and good.

Stunning view of the Pyramids

Our room was exactly as and even better than I could have visualized on booking. The purpose of my visit was to realize a life-long dream of seeing the pyramids. To awake our first morning, open the curtains and see all three major pyramids in their entirety, glowing golden with the rising sun, caused us to sit every day on our balcony with breakfast watching the ever changing light-play on these icons of antiquity. The hotel couldn't be closer, couldn't have been more pleasant to stay in, and more thoughtful in the small things such as housekeeping staff. The Spa was just perfect, massages professional and thorough, and the attendants wonderful. Could be more extensive buffet choices and more indigenous Egyptian food offerings, but otherwise, a fantastic venue and gracious experience.

Great for the Pyramids!

If it were not for the staff, I'd give this hotel a lower ranking as there were a few things I found below par for the money - choice of and quality of food could have been better, wi-fi that often dropped out, and rooms in need of a little TLC. That said, this is an ideal hotel for the Pyramids, a lovely pool and as I say, staff quality and attentiveness to a level amongst the highest I've ever encountered.

Best location

I stayed at this hotel and it was fantastic. Has a great view to the Pyramids and staff is very polite and professional. As opposed to the rest of the country, staff in this hotel does not bother you all the time for tips. Services at the spa were fantastic too! I would definitely repeat the experience.

Entertainment tip: Not Applicable

Get a driver! They are not expensive and are a must. Cairo is a very complex place to drive and right now there is no police, which complicates transit.

Excellent location and views

Excellent hotel with a tiny tweaks of disappointment Stayed with my wife in the hotel for 7 nights. The room we reserved over the Internet was overlooking the construction site and we upgraded our room for the extra $25 per night overlooking the pyramids

Great experience!

From the moment we arrived the staff was attentive and helpful and genuinely gracious and friendly. This same level of service was consistent the entire stay. The room was beautiful, the bed extremely comfortable. The spa was terrific! And you cannot beat the location! This was definitely a great experience. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Cairo to see the sights. I will book this hotel again when I come back in 2 years.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Head left out of the hotel, go a mere 5 minutes to a small eatery on the left, you can't miss it, it's open till about 3 in the morning. They have the cheapest bottled water you can find, and a better deal than the hotel...or anywhere else for that matter. Also really good shewarma and eggplant sandwiches.

Wandering in the Desert

The Meridien is doing well for what is obviously a very tough time. There were only a handful of guests. Many of the facilities were closed - all except one restaurant, which served only a buffet; the Business Center; poolside facilities (no lifeguard, bar or food service) - as were, I'm sure, many other tourist-oriented places in Cairo. What there was, worked fine. They found for me an excellent driver/tour guide, an absolute necessity in Cairo. The exception: my wakeup call for the airport never came. Terrific view of the two largest pyramids.

A good base in Cairo/Giza

Le Meridien Pyramids truly is a home away from home, especially if you have small kids with you. They have comfortable beds, relatively inexpensive room service (which we did every dinner), great AC in our room, large bathroom and you can have a pyramids-view room. Internet access, wirelss or via ethernet, is available for an extra charge (can't comment on the internet speed since we didn't buy some internet time.) The pool is relatively large with the majority of its space at least 6-ft deep. Also, not only is the hotel within walking distance (if it's not hot/humid) to one of the entrances to the Giza Pyramids complex, it's also not far from Cairo and a convenient base to explore the southern pyramids/sites. Getting taxi right outside the hotel is easy and convenient.
