Good enough for the money I paid!
The hotel in general was good. Electricity was fluctuating and it got cut off on the entire floor(2) for a couple of a hours including elevators. One of the positive points, they have got good variety of restaurants inside the hotel (7) for different cuisines.

Not for tourists
My experience was wonderful, the service, cleanliness, the room and all that was provided was excellent. The nearness to the airport was a plus. The only drawback is its isolation from shopping; although we discovered a mall not too far but it did require a taxi. Also be aware that if yoou get a taxi inside you pay 20 pounds more than if you walk outside the gate. Overall an excellent experience.

Caveat Emptor
Even the hotel staff are in collussion with the take advantage of tourist mentality of Cairo. They suggested we use their taxi driver who then proceeded to spend our money the rest of the day by dropping off at his friend's enterprises to work us over. Breakfast was expensive.

good price
Very pretty hotel. Staff was friendly when it came to offering services but deceiving when it came to paying. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is a bit far from the tourist attractions but it is worth staying away from the commotion. After trying to explore Cairo by ourselves (was not successful), we had the hotel set up a private tour for us and had a lot of fun. For our second trip, our driver did not show up to pick us up in the night and we had to call the hotel for him to get us. We were overcharged for the internet at check out and were forced to pay again. We left unhappy. Finally, when being dropped off for the airport with the free shuttle we were given attitude for not tipping.

Sightseeing tip:
Not Applicable
Don't try to explore Cairo on your own, especially women. About an hour to get anywhere in traffic but there are "free" shuttles until 4pm. Times for shuttles were odd.

Wonderful place to stay
Had a great view from my room. The staff was friendly and very polite. The location is nice. The service was excellent from all of the restaurants on the premises. Not far from most major attractions. I would stay there on any future visits.

Comfortable Glitz & Added Charges
The marble and chandeliered grandeur of the hotel made it a popular setting for local weddings. We had a moment of uncertainty when we first entered the secured gate of the compound, as we are independent travelers who like to "mix it up" with the locals, but do understand that some travelers find comfort in being greeted by bomb-sniffing German shepherds. The grounds were beautiful, the amenities ample (but always an added-charge), the staff plentiful and helpful, and, most importantly, the beds were soporifically comfortable. The compound has four restaurants, but be forewarned about outside seating. The maitre d' asked if we preferred sitting inside or out, we chose outside, and were surprised to find a "veranda" charge for two, AND a cover charge for the singer who sang to a karoake-style music box. We never did find the "free all-day wine and water" that was offered in the advertisment. All things considered, though, we had a pleasant stay.
