A good Bargain, A super Experience!

This was my 3rd stay at Sosua Bay and it keeps getting better. Staff is super friendly and accomadating. They aren't perfect, but they really try to get everything right, including making sure that you have options on what to do and where to go. Food is local cuisine and very good, plus there is plenty of it. Drinks alone make this a bargain at any price. Overall, a wonderful place for couples, families and singles-believe it or not.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Don't bother going into Puerta Plata for night life, a short walk away is the heart of Sosua-bars, clubs, restaurants. Across the street is a club and casino. One of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see is 25 yards away.

Good time

Overall I can say that Sosua Bay Resort is a good place if you plan to relax. It's located at only 10 to 15mns to the airport. The staff was nice and entertaining. The food at the Buffet varied and it was excellent. The room wasn't the best but since we didn't stay much there it didn't really matter.

Beautiful views

My family and enjoyed the beautiful views, direct access to Sosua beach, and the quiet. We loved that the hotel is rustic and seems to be more suitable for adults, so there were not many children. The staff was friendly and the food was good. This hotel has great potential and it seems that management is in transition. I would return.

Read This ASAP

Location, Location, Location! Cant beat the location. The thing to know about this hotel is that it has 2 sides...the family oriented side, and the fun side. Please specify your preference!!! The all inclusive for me wasnt worth it cause the food on what I call "The Strip" is tastier. Yeah the drinks make it cost effective, but I usually get hammered at the club while listening to good music and dancing. Speaking of the strip, after partying the night away, be sure to stop off at the after hour spot After One, which is across the street from this conveniently located hotel! Finally, the views are unparralled. I was also told about 2 floor suites with jacuzzis that are to die for and cost very little. My room had an ocean view with a balcony, which were perfect for reading, star gazing, and people watching. One negative aspect is that the place is a bit of a maze. Lots of stairs but I do think they have an elevator somewhere. Another minor negative was the breakfast. Although convenient, it left a little to be desired. Other than location, positives include the 2 separate sides, access to the ocean, location, gorgeous pools, no bugs, location, friendly staff, free wifi, well manicured areas, clean rooms, and relaxing atmosphere.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

1 block away = supermarket and pharmacy. At 4am, half a block away theres a truck that sells sandwiches. The "fun" side of the hotel charges no money to bring guests over.

Great vacation spot

Sosua Bay Hotel represents probably the best value out of several hotels we have visited within the last few years. Hotel includes buffet style breakfast in the restaurant overlooking ocean and nearby beach. It takes less than ten minutes to walk to the beach from the hotel where you can rent lounge chairs for a small fee. There are numerous gift shops, few small very basic restaurants along the beach and few tour operators. Yes the place shows signs of aging a bit but when you see it fully illuminated at dark with very few people around it is stunning. I strongly recommend it if you get it at the right price.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Do not waste your time looking for cheaper alternative places for dinner options. Hotel restaurant is really good and you can not beat their dinner buffet for the value and quality.

Nice resort on a beautiful ocean

Nice resort on a beautiful ocean bay. On arrival the desk had no knowledge of our reservation that we made online two days prior. Also we checked for an inclusive package (meals included) only to find that only breakfast was part of our package. However, all things considered we had a very nice stay.
