Couple getaway

It was a beatiful hotel but the food area was full of flies and the staff were horrible. They were not helpful, they were rude and no assistance in taking our luggage to 3rd floor. We felt as if we were on our own. I would not recommend this place. Again nice scene but the staff ruin the trip.

Sunny Sosua

This was out second vacation at Casa Marina. We had a wonderful vtime, Casa Marina's staff could not have been nicer and the hotel is a great option as it is within Sosua. If only they had Presidente beer as they did last time!?!? Liked being able to walk around Sosua and spend time at the local pubs....the did have Presidente! Hope the government cracks down on some of the unpleasant activity. We will go back to Sosua and will stay at Casa Marina....

Resort is nice.

Resort was beautiful. Offered quite a few activities you can play and the open bars decent for what you are paying for. I would recommend bringing your own mug or cup. The cups they give you are pretty small. The first couple of days, be prepared to get harassed a hundred times about going to their "presentation". By the third day they finally get the hint. The staff does a great job working with you if you don't speak the language. It's amazing how many languages the people there know. Thought the rooms were nice and the food wasn't bad. Only draw backs for use were the presentation harassments and the fact the it seems kind of darngerous to leave the resort and walk around. The area didn't look great but that just our opinion.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Short drive was the only option. Long drive would be more accurate but the Paradise Island trip was a good time. Great snorkeling!

More Ugly then good, mostly bad

Casa Marina Resort and Reef at Sousa, an Amash Marina location: let's see what can we say? The location was good, great view. The pools and beaches were nice, but that was all that was worth the stay there. Being latin I expected the foods to be more flavorful, but instead I got sick each time I ate there. We had lunch two days at the actual Sousa Beach off the resort with no side effects. There is not much to do there other then there activities at the pool which leaves much to be desire. The liquor was really bad and cheap. the room air and electricity only work if your key is in a slot, so when you are out, the room get hot and even with the key in place the air sucks. There is no refrigerator in the room and ice is not available down the hall, if they are open you can get some at a bar or the dinning rooms, not a short walk, when you get a small glass of ice, it will melt by the time you get to the room. The service was unfriendly, and not inviting. I would not recommed this hotel resort to any one looking for a good vaciton. I came back so disappointed, I feel like I did not go away at all. I had fun the two days we deceided to stay with family in Santiago, D.R., and there with fans it was cooler then at the hotel. The shows at night were very poor and low quality. Honestly, we have been to D.R. two times before and this time could not be compared in the least with those times, both times we came back bragging and excited to go back, this time all we wanted was for it to be over.
