Affordable, but not the best

I understand that due to its all inclusive nature, all guests need to pay to eat and drink on the premises, however this does not justify the treatment of everyone as if they are prisoners in a camp. Friends cannot visit you for short periods of time. I did not particularly like the wrist band. I think there should be a better way to identify paying guests besides tying some plastic tag to their wrists.

1 bad lay

The Hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly however the rooms were a little out of date and the beds were very hard and the hotel didnt respond to the complaint well at all. To my surprise, i seen that they had better rooms that were vacant after telling us they were no romms available. Then tried to get us to buy into a time share offering a better romm upon purchase.

has potential, but!!!!

This hotel is located at an amazing location, but the rooms and the quality of the hotel has gone down significantly. It is a shame! such a great location. The staff is very nice and they try to do their best with what they have. I wish that management would take a hint and renovate this hotel.

More than meeting expectation for low $$

We attended the Aquarium Marina (which i dont recommend to anyone unless have intentions to be haggled by time share personnel or have your own personal ride- b/c the whole aquarium requires only 10 minutes to walk through and a handful of fish tanks/ everything there was over priced and a waste of my day.) The Catamaran with TipTop, was a great deal 60 dollars. I had a marvelous time. I recommend using the hotel facilities' snorkeling gear for new swimmers before attended this activities..it can very overwhelming to many first timers. The trip involved swimming at 2 sights, and a stop over at Cambesia island...where we had dinner with the locals/cocoloca juice..very memorable and fun. Stay at the hotel for the beach/pool/mediocre all you can eat dinning facilities.. this is certainly not a luxorious resort however, if you intent to sleep and have numerous activites outside of the hotel and on grounds with a small budget..this could be the right place to stay... the down side to the hotel..were the jelly fishes.. we recommend bringing vinegar if you get stung/always bring off deep wood and hydrocortizone/ and possibly claritin for all whom are ultra sensative to insect bites. PS..all dinining facilities are huts without a/c!! and the only partition were linin hanging freely from poles.. but fortunately, for us it wasnt humid according to my frequently DR vacationer friend.. but I was constantly on watch for insects, birds, crabs as I dined quickly cautiously..lol and swatted flies away from my plate.

Pretty good for the price

The rooms themselves weren't great (they were outdated), but the rest of the hotel (pool, beach, bars, restaurants, etc.) was pretty nice. It's withing walking distance of the Sosua beach which is also convenient.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Day trip to Isla Paradiso-- beautiful island in the middle of the ocean. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from the hotel but is totally worth it.

beautiful location

fWe mostly went to the beach, which was beautiful. Waves to big for kids, plenty of pools for them. Food was delicious. 5 minutes from a very nice casino for something to do at night. The only problem we had with the resort was staff, sometimes they were very rude and would ignore you. I was shocked at that. We probably would go to a smaller resort next time. For the price, it wasn't to bad.

Great vacation

This was a great hotel. Beach and pools were wonderful. Food was fine. The only thing that I didn't like is they only gave you two bottles of water on arrival and that was it. We took a safari tour that was excellent. Our tour guide [...] was outstanding!
