Loved it!
We were a group of 15 and had a wonderful time! They have activities planned all day long....love Angy (one of the activity leaders). Traveled with people from 3 yrs- 68 yrs and all enjoyed the hotel and everything it offered. Please note there are two hotels....Casa Marina Reef and Casa Marina Beach. The two are connected and the only reason you need to know which one you are at is for when you check in! Otherwise all the facilties are the same.

Good deal for an outdated hotel
I've been here twice with family members. We have a good time. The location is prime, with many beaches nearby including two at the hotel, perfect for relaxing and cooling off. Food and beverages are satisfying. Staff is friendly and helpful. Having said all those nice things, the resort is kind of outdated, an old fashioned idea of tropical. The rooms are equally outdated, not as well furnished as they could be, and in great need of renovation. Food is plentiful but not always delicious. It's a good deal, but if you've been here before you may want to find something nicer.

This was out second vacation at Casa Marina. We had a wonderful vtime, Casa Marina's staff could not have been nicer and the hotel is a great option as it is within Sosua. If only they had Presidente beer as they did last time!?!? Liked being able to walk around Sosua and spend time at the local pubs....the did have Presidente! Hope the government cracks down on some of the unpleasant activity. We will go back to Sosua and will stay at Casa Marina....

You Get What You Pay For
The property is located near the center of town, so you do not need to deal with taxis. The private beach at the resort is beautiful. The food was average. Every night there is a pasta station, fish and chicken. Sometimes there is roast pork and once a lobster. The staff in the dining area are very nice people, but they cover multiple areas and are unclear as to who is coming or going. Two times in five days an unfinished meal was removed when I when to the bar for a drink. Also, the bar is located away from the food area. They manually poor beer and soda from bottles which may save on food cost, but they waste money on labor cost and make people wait unnecessarily. The cafeteria is needlessly inefficient. (If you bring your own large cup, they will fill). I asked to change my two times to a lower floor an was told to come back. I gave up. The neiborhood around the resort is save. If you are not to fussy about food it is OK. I would not recommend spending more than $90 US.

Resort has lost it's appeal
I spent last March 2012 there for a birthday weekend and the hotel had met my expectation and I was completely satisfied with its service. I went again this year March 2013 and I've got to say the hotel has completely downgraded itself by cutting corner to make money. From 11 am to 4 pm the Air conditioning in the room is turned off leaving only a fan that doesn't even cool anything in the room. The room service takes your towel after cleaning your room and doesn't even replace it till about 4 hours later. The food selection is minimal and the food at time is either overcooked or undercooked and the bartender get upset when you order more then one drink, I'm avoiding this resort next time I go on vacation

Short walk from hotel
In the restaurant named Bailey that's located a few block away have a delicious lunch special that's enormous and real typical Dominican dishes that you will love. I believe it's open from 11 to 2, so I recommend you visit. It's like a cafeteria type of selection where you get on line and choose what kind of rices, meats and side you want. They are very generous with the food, you just need to ask

I had a good experience for the price. The food was o.k. The pool was great, beach was really good, staff was very polite with a few exceptions. Some of the male staff needs to keep there coments to themselves and stop coming on to female visitors. The grounds were well maintained. Location was great. DOWNSIDE - Smoking..... Smoking should have designated area's not where all people are. Rooms should have a dresser or something so people can put there clothes in instead of going in and out of the suitcase everyday.

Family wedding
Staff made wedding an incredable experience. Rooms were clean and made up every day. For a poor country we were taken care of. We were able to wonder downtown to some of the restaurants and bars and were very safe. Just need to keep an eye on your surroundings. Hotel for the value paid was great. Liquor was a little watered down but was plentiful. If you are a wine drinker only this is not the place to go.

Resort is nice.
Resort was beautiful. Offered quite a few activities you can play and the open bars decent for what you are paying for. I would recommend bringing your own mug or cup. The cups they give you are pretty small. The first couple of days, be prepared to get harassed a hundred times about going to their "presentation". By the third day they finally get the hint. The staff does a great job working with you if you don't speak the language. It's amazing how many languages the people there know. Thought the rooms were nice and the food wasn't bad. Only draw backs for use were the presentation harassments and the fact the it seems kind of darngerous to leave the resort and walk around. The area didn't look great but that just our opinion.

Short drive from hotel
Short drive was the only option. Long drive would be more accurate but the Paradise Island trip was a good time. Great snorkeling!
