Good hotel in a good location
This hotel is in the heart of the colonial district (next to El Conde, the primary walking street), and it is easy to walk to all of the historical sites. I stayed on a special discounted rate, so that made it a good value, too. The wi-fi worked great; able to surf the web from my room. Also, I was surprised by the wide selection of tv channels (many English-speaking ones in addition to the Spanish ones). The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was very good. Finally, it was surprisingly quiet given the tourist location. I would give it 4.5 stars; doesn't have the high-end amenities (swimming pool or gym). Overall, a good place to stay.

Everything was fine until checkout,I was charged for calls but never shown a printout of the itemized calls, all done while taxi was ready to take me to the airport, forced to pay or miss my flight, will dispute the charges, all calls made by me were done on calling card. I felt I was being held hostage. Very uncomfortable feeling, hope to resolve this. Will not recommend hotel to anyone until issue is resolved, not the money but to have calls itemized for proof. lstemI

It's an OK hotel
I visited a friend. I had to leave a day early but since I was advised that there would be no refund due to an early check-out in advance, I did not expect one. However, I wish the hotel would have granted my request to factor this in in waiving the incidental charges. I felt like I was talking to a wall (even in Spanish).

GREAT LOCATION FOR THE PRICE
HOTEL IS IN A GREAT LOCATION IF YOU WANT TO CHECK ALL THE HISTORICAL SITES IN THE CAPITAL.IT IS VERY CLOSE TO ALL THE MAIN ATTRACTIONS LOCATED IN THE COLONIAL CITY. THE BREAKFAST WAS PRETTY DESCENT, JUST BE CAREFUL WITH THE LOCALS THEY ARE ALL TRYING TO GET OVER ON THE TOURIST. If YOU DO GO OUT MAKE SURE YOU ASK THE HOTEL STAFF TO HELP YOU FIND TRANSPORTATION, THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL WITH THAT .ALL IN ALL IT WAS A PRETTY DESCENT PLACE TO STAY CONSIDERING THE PRICE; BUIT NEXT TIME WE'LL JUST STAY IN A FANCIER HOTEL AND COMMUTE TO THAT AREA

Mecure is fine for a few days
I loved walking around the colonial zone from right outside the doors of this hotel. If you go out the front door make a right and a immediate left. There are like four cool evening places within two blocks. I walked along the water even as far as the Hilton which in the humidity was tough. My room was fine. Nothing fancy but adequate. Tip try to find a cabbie you can call because the cabs right outside the hotel are complete thieves.

Long walk from hotel
The casinos along the malecon are really nice. I had more fun in them then Atlantic City. Plus at night some of them have live bands, with no cover charges.

The Bfast is very good. The room had a moldy smell, they charge 100 US dollars to your credit card as hold at check in however after check out there is larger charge towards your card. If you have a guest visit you they charge you 17 US dollars plus 26% tax even if guest comes for few mins. You need to notify your clients up front visitors charge and $100 hold at time of check in. Thank you
