Good weeking gateaway
first night was sleepless RM was close to the casino very noisy... second night RM changed was much better .staff was very helpfull..I like the fact my family was able to come & take picture at the hotel w/out any problem. altough they were not staying there.. very greatful for that.. thank you.. will stays there again jo

FOR $88. YOU CAN FAIND BETTER HOTEL. TO MUCH SECURITY PEOPEL , YOU MAS PAY FOR WI FI $9.00, THE RESTAURANT EXPENSIVE FOR THE FOOD THEY OFFER A POOUR BUFFET FOR $40.00, BREAK FAST IS OKAY FOR $11.00 AND IF YOU WISH TO INVITED SOME BODY TO YOU ROOM THIS COST $ 50.00 EXTRA.

The Melia was a very clean and exceptional hotel with good service and a super friendly staff...It was in the heart of Santo Domingo with easy access to transportation. The rooms were clean and the restaurant was open late for late night snacking..

GREAT SERVICE
*All of the counter staff, bellman were very attentive and professional. *My only questionable experience was with the host in the dining room, he truly seemed like he did not like his job. *The rooms were average and less than what you would expect given the lobby appearance. *Location was busy with four lane traffic in front, however the room was not effected by the noise. *Plenty of historic sites within walking distance if you enjoy a good walk. *Good restaurants within walking distance which offered breakfast buffet and dinner with entertainment and dancing on Saturday nite. *VIEW: excellent sunrise/sunsets from room and view of ocean.

Melia santo Domingo
Nice and friendly good sense of security, and that coming from a person in that field is a very good remark. It will be nice if a little more flexibility applies to visitors coming to the hotel, with tenants, especially with a casino , discotheque and such friendly environment.

American-style standard in Latin America
Although well-worn and not quite spotless, the Melia Santo Domingo is nice by Latin America standards. Service was consistently attentive (example, customers are greeted upon check in with a refreshing fruit juice), on property restaurant is adequate and reasonably priced by hotel standards with plenty of other dining options within walking distance or short cab ride. Location is ideal, right on the Malecon and near both old and new parts of the city.
