Good Hotel Good Location
I have stayed in this hotel 5 times already, the staff knows me and they are always treating me like family. I like it, its in the malecon next to all the casinos and the colonial zone. It also next to many restaurants. Nice pool and a good gym. I recommend.

There are many good restaurants close, Adrian Tropical, Vesuvio, Don Luis Parrillada, Tony Romas ect. Talk to the concierge. The food in the hotel is also very good.

Our favorite hotel in Santo Domingo
After first staying here a few years ago and also trying other upscale hotels in the area I decided to come back to is our favorite. This hotel has an amazing staff, great food in their buffet style restaurant all day long, in addition to 24 hour room service. The only complaint I had was regarding our reservation that called for a high ocean view floor and we were originally given a smoking level room on floor number 5. I immediately requested and was changed to floor 7 which to me was still not real high considering the hotel has 12 stories I think total. Either was we love this hotel for all of the above plus the fact that you are centrally located to everything that the city has to offer, and the hotel has excellent security! For my next trip unless another Melia opens up in Santo Domingo I will be back!

Good business hotel
Overall solid but not extraordinary hotel. Internet was good. Room service food quality was high but relatively slow. The pool was nice. The concierge was unusually uninformed referring us to the taxi drivers for ideas on family activities. So good for business but wouldn't return with my family.

Good for a business stay
Room and hotel are always clean. Lots of personal to help you with anything you need. Support from the Business Center was top of the line. It's a must to buy their expensive bottled water 'cause the tap water there is not for human consumption. Breakfast buffet was good enough to return the next day, and some nice restaurants are at a walking distance from the hotel. And a casino is included for those up to the game.
