Great place specially for singles.

Great location, but a little noizy in the early Am hours that wasn t a problem for me because i like getting up early to feel and enjoy the beauty of the caribbean nature even standing on the balcony. the staff are exceptional very helpful and nice, the only bad side of the hotel that i dislike is there is a $12 charge for having visitors or a guess in the room that you already paid for.

Fun in Santo Domingo

The hotel is exactly as others described. Do not expect to sleep in past 6:30am, the honking and delivery trucks tend to be very loud. As for the staff, the cleaning staff did a nice job and certain front desk staff were nice. Breakfast was tasty, especially when they brought out Dominican dishes, which is every other day. The hotel is three blocks from El Conde and every Sunday up the street there is live music playing Merengue, Salsa and Bachata. I had a blast!

Check out El Meson de La Cava or El Conoco...two of the best Dining experiences in the Dominican Republic. El Meson is for fine dining and El conoco is for a traditional Dominican dining experience with a great atmosphere!

Excellent Location, Super Friendly

The hotel is located in the historic zone of this pleasant city. Within minutes you can walk to the cathedral, for example, and you are close to some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. The staff are exceptionally pleasant and competent. My room was a bit small but charming with good Wi-Fi and satellite television. The hotel is clean. This is not a modern building -- all the better for it. If you want an American hotel chain feel then don't go to this hotel. But if you are after a pleasant hotel in an historic zone with acceptable food, then this is for you.

not terrible

I was only there for a few hours. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They came to get me from the airport upon my request free of charge. The room was small but clean. My only issue was how loud it was. I woke up at 7am to catch my flight and the bustle on the street was very loud. There is no sound-proofing. The area is VERY run down.

Good location, but noisy.

Great location, close to everything, but noisy. Zone Colonial is kind of depressed, lot of store not open. Hotel is not bad, but do bring your ear plugs. Hotel staff is very good, nothing they can do about the noise.
