I booked the Garden side of the hotel and they put me on the beach side after I told them I wanted the Garden and I had friends also book the Garden because that's what I booked and we would be together in the same side of the street The room they gave me the air conditioner only went on high or off the temperature control did not work either It was right accross from the elevator and the door on the elevator slammed shut every time someone used it I asked for a room change when the key did not work and someone from behind the front desk gave me a new key and that one did not work he came and tried it himself and no good He said he would check to see if he could change the room and will be back up to let me know and I am still waiting to hear back from him Not a good stay and I had four rooms all together and they split us up no good

WORST RESORT EVER!!!

Would not recommend Wed, Aug 26, 2015
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This resort was by far the worst place I have ever gone to! This is false advertising at its best right here. There are 3 pools (not 6) & a Jacuzzi that is connected to the lagoon style pool that is about the same temp as the pool just elevated, and a baby pool. ALL POOLS CLOSE AT 6PM! At about 5:55 they would come around and blow a whistle until everyone was out. The food was down right terrible. The buffet, which is what you need to expect to eat for just about every meal. So keep in mind for breakfast, lunch and dinner you will see the same thing again and again. So mashed potatoes, steamed yuka, and boiled plantains (normally lunch and dinner type foods) are on the breakfast buffet too, along with raw French toast and dry pancakes. The snack shack was disgusting. There were burgers and hotdogs that tasted like burnt hockey pucks and the condiments were served in large stainless pans filled with dead bugs and a mysterious liquid. The only good meals were the 3 meals in the specialty restaurants. There are days when there are no choices, its just the buffet. The restaurant choices that are listed on the website is not what is there. The activities are limited as well. They claim they have putt putt... maybe 20 years ago, but now its a concrete mold, no grass and a metal rail that your ball would fall through as the border. Never once saw anyone out there to even give you equipment so don't count on that. The snorkel hut was hard to find and not on the map. When asking staff they would simply shrug their shoulders and walk away. Be prepared to give them a $30 deposit for each mask and snorkel you borrow from them. Also when we walked up we were asked if we wanted to go on a snorkel excursion with them when we politely declined he got rude and said, good luck seeing anything out there but we did, there is a buoy anchored around a reef with lots of fish. But the attitudes were not just at the snorkel hut... it was everywhere! The first 2 days of our trip was either spent in our room waiting or waiting in the lobby, for a new room. The first room did not have a working toilet and the second room didn't have working water. In fact, I didn't have water until it came pouring through the ceiling, still not out of the faucet. So when we rushed out of room to tell the front desk that it was raining in our room, they then sent a parade of people in our room to fix it. But they didn't. They came to fix the toilet (no problems in this room), and then switched out our tv (it wasn't broken), and then started looking in the shower. There was ceiling debris everywhere and several items were ruined. Was this addressed? No! They acted like it was our fault that the ceiling was collapsing. They sent someone down to my room that all he did was yell at me and tell me that the room I was in was fine lady. He kept yelling and calling me lady. Totally disrespectful! But while they were distracting us with the wait here tactic, someone stole cash from our room. This was handled by sending a team of people down to my room to go through my things. I felt like they were casing my room for the expensive things that they didn't have time to look for while they were stealing the first time around. But it wasn't until they were holding up my panties, pair by pair, that I lost it. What ever it was they were looking for they weren't going to find it in see through lace, now were they? They were out of line! There was no way our cash was going to be returned to us, so why the interrogation? It was just one more thing in the long line of things that were terrible here list. Other things to know is there are rolling blackouts (no power) and periods of time that there is no water on the property. Seems like it always happened at the worst possible time too! Save yourself a headache, book another resort!

Really really bad, Really

Would not recommend Fri, Jul 31, 2015
The hotel is a Home Dept wet dream. Everything needs to be repaired or replaced. The room was large and AC was cold. However, the shower head and toilet were broken and no water pressure. There weren't many food selections and quality was low. The beach was ok but small. I have traveled to many all inclusive hotels, so I would recommend this hotel to my mother in law.

The hotel was good, if you are staying here you have to stay in the suites, the garden view and beach rooms are a waste of time and money. If you want your moneys worth stay in the suites! loved the suites!

Checking in takes a very long time. However, when it comes time to check-out they want you OUT immediately. You never get the chance to speak to a supervisor, you'll get the run-around no matter if you're in Hamaca Garden Beach or Suites.
