Great Getaway
I thought my stay at the Barcelo was very nice. The hotel is beautiful and the location is great. It's a nice hotel to stay at if you have traveled to Santo Domingo more than one time! Don't expect much from the pool bar. They don't seem to go out of their way to serve you!!

Short walk from hotel
Go across the street and get your beverages from a cart or store!! Way cheaper!!!! At hotel I got a water and soda (with all taxes and tip included) for about 120 pesos, if not more... Across the street I got 4 waters, and two sodas for not even 100 pesos!

Awesome. The hotelwas amazing, the staff was very nice, made some money at the casino, and went everywhere in the country. Anywhere is about a 3hour driving distance. Tip: get the upgrade to a jeep or a high car. It is definitely worth it.

The food in the hotel was delicious. Loved the breakfast buffet. But there were also many dinning places outside the hotel that also offer delicious food for less ($$)

My experience was great. The staff was very friendly. My main reason for choosing this hotel is because it is located exactly at the corner of the streets Maximo Gomez/27 de Febrero. From here you can catch public transportation anywhere. The taxis at the hotel are over priced. It is also close to el malecon and the newly decorated area called Guibia which gets lively at night. Next door to the hotel is a place called Pin,Pam,Pun (los tres golpes). They have good food at cheap prices. Its a nice little chill spot. I would stay there again.

The Best Night Ever!!!
The hotel was even better then described! Worth it! The food was delicious! The room was excellant and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We are definately desiring to return.

Nice Hotel with good location
It's my second time at the Santo Domingo Barcelo and it was quite satisfactory. They charge $10 for Internet 24 hrs. but besides that it's good value. The japanese restaurant is excellent.
