From world championship golf to a first class spa, pioneering ecological park, and exquisite dining, we offer incomparable facilities. Take a romantic horseback ride on the beach at sunset or a scuba tour to dazzling coral reefs and mysterious sunken ships. Although that's not to say there's anything wrong with staking out a week-long claim somewhere along our exquisite beaches.
Opened in 2000, La Cana Golf Course is the creation of architect P.B. Dye and the first of multiple courses planned for the resort. While many of the famous seaside courses are located high above the ocean, La Cana Golf Course literally plays along the beach, giving the feeling that at high tide you could reach out and touch the salt water. Here, even on a relatively flat seaside land, undulation abounds as P.B. Dye pushed earth around to create a fun test for all golfers. While the course is among the longest and toughest in the Caribbean, at 7,152 yards, the five sets of tees afford the resort guest the chance to settle into a more comfortable yardage. With only a few exceptions, he manages to leave greens open in front, to encourage players to run a shot in, benefiting the resort player as well.

The Spa, provides services indoor or outdoor, individual or couple, our customized treatment areas feature luxurious baths and herb gardens that create the perfect Zen ambiance for your complete revitalization. Terrific girls long weekend
Lili Apr 22, 2009
I had a great time at the Punta Cana Hotel. All the staff was great, very friendly and very helpful. One of our favorite ... place to visit and hang out at was at the bar in the lobby of the hotel (our bar tender Fancis was the BEST). We loved that the hotel offered plenty of activites and yet it was calm enough to have relaxing days within the hotel. We enjoyed all the great service and suggestions of excusions offered outside of the hotel. One last thing I definitly would recommend it the Seven Senses Spa at the Punta Cana Hotel, it was a perfect ending to our wonder girls long weekend vacation.

Mangu!!! definitely full of locals... Also, this is not a night life tip but for excusions, check out the tropical storm and the 4X4 dirt bikes - fun times.

Six Senses Spa nearby and affiliated with the hotel is wonderful. You can relax at the more upscale pool and dine at the restaurant there. Had a couples massage outside which was lovely.

Best Buy/Value Vacation in beautiful DR
SBR Apr 22, 2009
Shuttle service was great; tons of restaurants to choose from; breakfast buffet was perfect and huge and included. Room was ... a little chilly. We found a prettier beach nearby at Tortuga Bay. Excellent value if you just need to get away but don't want to spend a lot. The D.R. is a beautiful, lush, green country. You'll practice your spanish if you are not a native speaker...I liked that.

Great hotel grounds
Mary Apr 16, 2008
Hotel Punta Cana had beautiful grounds. The beaches were the nicest we have experienced and the complimentary recreation ... opportunities were great. A wonderful golf course was near the property as well. Suggestion for improvement would include: The toilet was inoperable all day one day of our stay. This is really unacceptable for a resort. I kept calling guest services about this and they responded that it would be fixed soon, but it was not. The food choices were not the best. We went to an expensive hotel restaurant one night (alani) and the service was poor, the bread tasted frozen and the butter was more like a whipped bland margerine. This was unacceptable for the price we paid. The other restaurants on the property were only marginally better. Overall, I was somewhat satisfied, but this hotel could improve.

Good times, but at a price
Oliver Mar 4, 2008
Great staff and so many things to do. Non-party atmosphere. More for the relaxing escape. The food was not all that great ... and the options are limited. Free breakfast is nice with a large assortment of what you would expect from a free buffet. The biggest surprise is the cost of drinks which are absurdly high - $8+ for a bottle of beer?! Ask one of the porters to possibly go to town and buy some things for you or take a cab there and do it yourself. The beaches are clean and beautiful as is the rest of the property. Windy on the beaches. Visit the Six Senses Spa if you want a real treat. AMAZING! Did not need to convert any money to Pesos as the entire resort was in USD (never actually touched a Peso the entire trip). Ended up paying extra costs in cash (USD).

A very beautiful resort. Quiet and quite tranquil. The beach area was small and not fabulous. But the surroundings are ... lovely. The outdoor dining along the beach was fabulous. But noting is cheap! Asking for some water with breakfast with cost you 4 dollars!

Rooms
viviane Feb 3, 2008
The hotel itself is great, landscape, beaches, golf course, restaurantes, but the rooms are terrible. In 4 days stay we moved ... 2 times the room. The first one , there was no hot water at all. The staff at 7pm said that would take 1 hour to fix.... at 10:40 they decided to move us to another room. We could finally take a hot shower after a long day of travelling. The next day, our bathroom was totally wet. A huge infiltration coming from upstairs. They offered us another room late that night... Finally the last room was ok, not too clean, but was enough to spend the last night.

The restaurante ANAI , right upstaris of the lobby offers an excellent food! It's worth it!!! Also, if you get a chance to walk on the beach, walk towards the golf course. I also suggest to do the Ecological Trail , the lagoons are beautiful and you can swim in clear , cristaline waters!

We have made previous trips to Punta Cana Resort and Club and elected to go back there after considering other area ... properties since we knew what to expect and the quality of the resort. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The accomodations are very nice, housekeeping is fantastic and the beach is perfect. We like this resort because it is is very peaceful and clean. The only disappoint we had is that the hotel was in low season and the dining options were limited. While Breakfast was excellent, the beach cafe was closed for 3 days during our visit. And, the hotel had eliminated the evening buffett we had so much enjoyed previously. We felt the dining was very good in the two restaurants upstairs, but not for every night. We would have liked more casual dining options (the buffett) options. Not one place could you get a good old hamburger. Menu at the cafe near the pool was also very limited. The staff was excellent and we will make plans to visit again. We would highly recommend this resort to our friends. We have been to many Caribbean resorts and this is one of our absolute favorite places to visit. You will not be disappointed. My husband is a PGA Golf Professional (30 years) and in the development business and he simply loves the P.B. Dye golf course. He found it very fun to play, and in good condition.

The kids can't stop talking about it
Pringle Aug 11, 2007
The PuntaCana Resort & Club is the easiest family trip we have ever taken. Our three boys -- ages 14, 11, & 7 -- loved the ... beautiful beach and the big pool with the swim-up bar. The grounds were lush and green, and the three-bedroom casita on the beach gave us privacy: separate baths & sleeping quarters with a lovely, partially open-air living room. I will definitely return. Tall coconut palms line the beach. The club let us sail the catamaran, sea kayaks, & wind-surfersw for no extra fee. The snorkeling, which involved a guide and boat ride to a nearby reef, was about $30 per person. I would recommend the snorkeling as a fun, easy adventure. We signed on for a two-meal inclusive plan: breakfast & dinner. Lunch was pay-as-you-go. The breakfast buffet, on a terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea, was easily the best meal of the day. Lunch at the beach-front grill was pleasant and offered fresh, local seafood & salads. The dinners were the least tasty. We do NOT recommend Mama Venizia's, with its Italian menu. These cooks do best when sticking to their own type of food. However, Franco's, the pizzaria by the pool, was a big hit with the boys and not too bad for the adults. Anani had the best food for a fancy meal at night. But again, stick to the local fish & local spices. Overall, we had a delightful time and can't wait to return. They even had some fun outdoor/covered games for the kids, such as ping-pong, a giant chess board, billiards, etc. We played tennis three times. Bring your own rackets and balls. We had to pay $8 for a can of balls! But the sand-like clay courts were nice and very good at staying dry, despite short afternoon showers.

Had a wonderful two week vacation at The Punta Canna Hotel. This property has everything, horseback riding to an actual dive ... shop on site. Not to mention a world class spa. How about your own tropical rain forrest to explore or petting zoo all on property. During my stay several fishing tournemnts were taking place at the marine which is also on property. And if golf is your thing they have that too.The Punta Cana Resort and Club is my kind of paridise and will be your too if you like finding a place on the beach away from all the crowds, but if you want the loud, partying action this is not the place for you.
Traveler type: Single
Make sure you get a bike and explore the property, not much is in print so you really have to hunt down all the great things to do. And go to the pool at the golf clu/spa. You can have the beach all to yourself. Also do not miss the sunset horseback ride. And take the boat out at the dive dshop for a wonderful snorkle trip.
