Great

Everything was amazing! Food was great, lots of selections. Service is top notch! Everybody was super nice. Property is gorgeous, well maintained. Only downside is the beach is basically unswimable. Lots of seaweed. I dont think its the hotels… fault, its just nature. Hotel tries to clean it up all day long but still comes back.

Our great vacation

My wife and I went to the Dominican, our first real vacation in several years! The RIU Palace is definitely a palace, absolutely beautiful. The place is Grand, staff is very friendly, dining options are good, the best is the pool and beach area. Only items that need improvement are the rooms, though nice in size, there a definite damp odor, plus there were numerous times that house keeping came to tighten up the room and left the door unlocked, make sure to use the safe. Hope this is helpful.

A great vacation

The Riu is just an excellent place. This is the second Riu Palace we have stayed at, the first one in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. They are both beautiful! This one is newer and has a few more amenities and detailed touches. The rooms are great, and the staff puts a new flower accented decoration with a towel in your room everyday that they make it up. We came in to a heart, had it reformed to a swan the second day, and so forth. The staff is super friendly and very eager to please. We had an excellent time. I would recommend it to any of my friends and family!!

There is not much off the property, but you can go to all the other Riu hotels in the complex. One has a disco tech and one has a casino. There are tons of activities to take part in on the property so there is really no need to leave.

There is a flea market on the beach about a 20 minute walk from the resort. You can find some really nice things. Brush up on your bargaining skills as you will need to barter to get a good price.

A Great Getaway!

The Riu Palace Punta Cana was excellent. I had a wonderful time and the staff was Great! The suite was spacious, clean and fashionably decorated. The only problem was that the room smelled like mildew. The location of the hotel was excellent, right off the beach. The grounds were well manicured and the overall scenery was beautiful. The food and activities were good. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to those who love luxury!

very relaxing and fun during the day

The hotel was amazing so beautiful. Our rooms were very comfortable roomy and clean . The staff were beyond accomadating to us . We dont speak spanish and were able to get our needs met ,from extra towels to cleaning the room. The pool was never over crowded. There were always activites going on that the hotel staff organized in a fun upbeat manner with numerous staff available to take your drink order in a NY minute and all with a big smile. There were only 2 drawbacks. The food was one drawback it was beneath our expectations it was only fair, go with the buffet more choices ,quantity and quality at each meal. The other drawback is the lack of night time activites. There is some singing which was fair if you like lukewarm 80's love songs and there is a show everynight (we were involved in one of these too!) These are good but we were wanting to go dancing and the disco they have was weak. Overall I wouldn't take the kids not much going on here for them but a great place for a 4-5 day adult vacation wonderfully relaxing and so fairytale beautiful.

AWESOME

This trip was the first one that i went on to the domican republic it was a great time. the staff are extremely frienly and the place was absolutely beautiful, everything is top of the line. Great place to relax not exactly the night life place but very good atmosphere for families and couples i would definitely recomend it to anyone. The food was not exaclty the best but you do have a wide variety, the only pain is that you have to make reservations for the restaurants the mornig before your dine in them no matter what the case and this takes place starting at 9 in the morning adn it is first come first serve.
