Paradisus Punta Cana Resort - All Inclusive

Overall we were very satisfied w/ our stay at Paradisus Punta Cana. Beautiful surroundings, good food and drink, and nice amenities included in the price: room service, sauna/steam bath, jacuzzi, exercise room, tennis, golf, etc. Nice selection of restaurants; some very good, others average. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone from the ground maintenance to the restaurant staff was pleasant and made you feel welcome. The standard rooms (w/ or w/o jacuzzi) are getting old and in need of some refurbishing. Look fine at first glance but after spending a few days you begin to notice the little details that are in need of an upgrade. Some may consider the grounds to be too big, but this allows for an 'uncrowded' feel even when the resort reaches capacity. Shuttle service is always available if you need to go any distance. The beaches throughout this location are excellent. For the money and in comparison to other resorts in the DR and throughout the Caribbean we thinks it's a good deal.

I was at the resort apprx 15 years ago. Although the grounds were kept up the room are showing wear. They also do not accomidate to large groups very well. The bars close to early. The wine list is not very good. although the food was very good, but they will not allow reservations for larger groups of people that would like eat together. I would rate the resort a 7 out of 10. They aslo do not provide any transportation to and from the airport. That was very disappointing for the price that was charged.

My wife,sister in-law, and myself spent 3 days from jan 16-19 at this incredibly relaxing and well seviced hotel.Service was exceptional, the grounds are gorgeous and well kept. The quality of the food was good and selection was above average. The beach is of course beautiful but I did not like the way that it was sectioned off into basically four different levels of service.The basic suite that we stayed in was large, although a little dated(especially the toilet/shower area).Cleanliness of the room could have been a little better, but the short duration of our stay limited our ability/desire to do anything about it. I am sure that it would have been remedied had the attempt been made. My wife and I have travelled to the D.R. seven times in the last eight years,three times to Punta Cana and this was just a little sidebar to the "Big Show" that was our daughter's wedding the previous week at another very nice resort. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quality relaxing getaway at a fair price,but this ain't no cheapie cheapie!

We enjoyed the resort for the most part. We have experienced concierge and butler service at other resorts and Paradisus was very disappointing in that regard. Specifically, no restaurant reservations...no inroom bar...and no designated beach or pool areas..lots of high-pressure vacation club personnel. On a positive note...concierge desk staff was very accommodating. We also enjoyed several meals at the resort...specifically: El Romantico, Vento, Italian restaurant and concierge lunches.

Our stay at Paradisus was more than we expected. The aromatherapy throughout the resort made for a calming and relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and always available to meet all of our needs. The room was spacious and comfortable. The resort thought about everything you could possibly need. There were plenty of activities and entertainment. Coco Tours experience was our only negative one. We spent a significant amount of time trying to confirm our transportation to the airport with our representative from CoCo Tours (which is arranged through [...]). They were a no show at the resort.

Overall the hotel was very nice and had very friendly staff. Sometimes it was hard to figure out how to sign up for activities (Different staff would give you different answers).

Loved everything about the trip (other than AA losing our luggage upon arrival and the ground carrier - Coco Tours not being there to take us to the hotel) For our trip we had our 19 & 22 year old kids join us. Staff was wonderful, activities fun, beaches lovely. Had a nice selection of restaurants and food. As written before, the food was certainly adequate, but not fantastic. However, room service was prompt and had a nice selection 24/7. Also, enjoyed the nightly entertainment and the lush tropical location. The patio off the spacious room was delightful. No real complaints, would recommend to anyone for a relaxing vacation.

We have been to many Caribbean locations and we all rank this as our most likely to return to. The all inclusive with all the restaurant choices was phenomenal. We would start early in the day debating where we wanted to try for dinner and were never disappointed. We were so relaxed we waited a few days before sampling the included activities. We wished we started earlier but then again the relaxation at the various pools or at the beach was mighty fine. The grounds were beyond compare and made walking around very pleasurable and safe. It was a great vacation.

While the staff was five star / the premises have not been well maintained. They've become a little run down. The place wasn't even half full.
