Paradise

We absolutely loved our stay at Paradisus! We were incredibly pleased with our decision to stay here. I'll admit, I had my worries based on some of the negative reviews I read online. However, I really can't complain about anything. I actually feel very fortunate we picked Paradisus. No scams, no horror stories, no insecure feelings. We simply relaxed and enjoyed a beautiful resort in a beautiful location. Words that describe our stay at Paradisus in Punta Cana: gorgeous, relaxing, (nearly) perfect, comfortable, carefree. The grounds at are meticulously maintained. The resort is spread out and very beautiful. If you stay at the Reserve, the furthest walk to the beach is about 5-10 minutes. Or you can take a shuttle. We're active & healthy, so we didn't mind the walk along the beautiful path to the beach. Compared to other hotels we saw along the beach in Punta Cana, the beach furniture is far better than other hotels. The lounge chairs are comfortable, there are big comfortable two-person lounges. The restaurants were anywhere between good-to-great. The staff was very friendly and always wanted to be helpful. The buffets are good, the other restaurants are great! We didn't go there for the food (we went for the weather and beaches), and we really can't complain about the food and in some cases, we really loved the food. Very safe and secure. There are security guards throughout the resort: on the beaches, the walkways, in the lobbies. There is also 1 to 2 guarded security check points along the driveway leading to the resort. Beyond the resorts in Punta Cana, it's a poor area. Not really a place I'd like to "walk around" and check out the local scenery. Highly recommend Zip Lines Adventures! This excursion got us off the resort grounds and we got to see a little bit more of the Dominican Republic. This is the only extra fee we had to pay (and we chose to). Booking was simple. We made our reservation in the lobby. The zip line company, Bavarro Runners, picked us up. The drive is about 60 to 90 minutes, but it's interesting to see the villages and scenery along the way. Also, the guide told us about the country and the people and that was actually very educational. The zip line experience was exhilarating! So fun and such a rush! The staff were knowledgeable and fun.

Only one restaurant required a reservation; however, the other restaurants have "waiting lists." To avoid a wait (anywhere between a hour to an hour and a half), get there when the restaurant opens. We got to Terra when it opened and got a table right away. We went back on our last night at about 8:00, and had to wait about an hour. Also, if you have to wait, remember this: you're on vacation; have a drink, or two, or three and relax in a cabana or a private-like couch.

Destination Wedding Guest

This hotel is a piece of paradise.. An amazing place, staff is friendly, honest and personable. Hotel is spotless, clean and very comfortable. The only issues I had were they did not notify or work up the entertainment they had, not clear on where to go, times etc. The food in my opinion was not so good. Dinner restarurants were hit or miss, Sakura was real good. Vento, not so good. Nevermind the lines to get in were frustrating at times and after waiting two hours, you are not guaranteed to eat

Great, relaxing trip!

We chose this resort based on the price and the reviews and thought it was a great deal! As with most all-inclusive resorts many reviews said the food wasn't that good but my boyfriend and I were able to go to a different restaurant every night and were never disappointed with out meal! Plenty of chairs on the beautiful beach, the resort itself was gorgeous to just walk around in, and the room was very nice. I'm sure we will make a trip back again at some point!

Beautiful place, great stay

we went for a destination wedding and we had a wonderful time. The hotel was able to accommodate our request for large dinner parties and could not have been friendlier. We didnt stay in the reserve, just the paradisus straight up and we didnt need anything else. The beach was beautiful and i loved laying on the beach beds. The food wasn't gourmet, but definitely edible - had delicious omelettes every day, the rice and beans were always good for lunch and the Chinese place by the pool was my favorite place for dinner. The shows were entertaining and i would recommend the disco for great dancing!

Perfect Family Vacation!

My wife and I took our two boys 6 & 3 for a week and had an amazing time. It helps that the weather was perfect! We stayed in the reserve side which I highly recommend in a 1 Bedroom Master. Plenty of room one of my kids slept on the pull out and the other on the other couch. The patio looked out into the pool. All of the staff was extemly friendly, especially the bartenders and the waiters on the reserve beach! We especially loved the brazillan restaurant and the Japanese place. We didn't use the kids club but it looked fine. We would highly recommend the hotel and the place..Pay the money for the club service so you don't have to walk it is a hike to the beach from the reserve side and the shuttles don't come too often..

Great place to "chill out"

The staff is more than accomadating. I could sense that they wanted to assist you with whatever your requests were. Their reply always was' my pleasure'. The food was adequate and tasty. The only negative is that some of the staff did not understand English too well. All in all, I would rate the hotel a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

They have trolleys that run all day long that help you get around the resort...from your room to the beach, pool or any of the several restaurants. If you enjoy walking, then don't worry about catching one of the trolleys (which run every 10 minutes). Everything is about a 10-15 minute walk. The view is spectacular and you'll love it either way! We were upgraded to stay at the Reserve since we had our wedding on the Paradisus beach, and it's definitely worth it to stay at the Reserve! If you can do it, then we'd highly recommend it. The pool at the Reserve is definitely a different vibe compared to the other large/main pool (which is more of a party atmosphere with the swim up bar and all the kids). The beach is simply amazing! The food at all the restaurants was good. We DON'T recommend the Chinese Restaurant (Qi). Our favorite was Luna (the seafood restaurant right on the beach). If you have a hearty appetite, then we would recommend that you eat at 7:00 pm at one of the restaurants and then go to another one! :) You will need reservations at the Japanese Restaurant (Sakura), but it's worth it if you can get in. The Paradisus staff are SO nice. The drinks are delicious. You just can't go wrong staying here. We'll definitely be back again!!!!!!
