Paradisus Punta Cana Resort - All Inclusive

Almost everything was perfect, from the time of the arrival until check-out. Excellent service (the Dominicans are very smiley and helpful), excellent hotel, large remodelled room, nice restaurants, with plenty of options. Romantic dinner on the beach was also fine. YHI Spa is expensive, but service is also very nice. Guest services, though, do not seem to be very efficient and we did not receive the gifts and rose petal turndown service we were eligible for, as we were on honeymoon. Overall, it was above our expactations.

We arrived at at Paradisius at 1:05 PM and the sign said "check in 3:00". We didn't get a room until 4:30 (not the ideal way to start off). We were greeted by a member of the staff named Diego. He was more interested in selling us a future trip than letting us enjoy this one. He told us he would give us a "tour" at 9:00 AM the following morning. Against our better judgment we agreed to be ready at 9:00 AM for the "tour". He never called or showed up. We ran into him after breakfast and he offered us the "tour". He said our phone must not be working. I’ll assume a knock on the door might have solved that alleged problem. The tour was a 90 minutes sales pitch for the parent company of the Paradisus. When we told the lady that he handed us off to that we weren't interested, Diego appeared again, expressed his anger and turned his back on us (literally). The next night we heard scratching in the room around midnight. It wound up being a large rat. I'm not blaming the hotel for that in itself, but when we asked for someone to come, it took 30 minutes. After the staffer saw the rat, he left after trying to trap it. We asked for a different room. It took 40 minutes to finally get us a room. It had twin beds and we wanted a king size bed. We told the man with us that we wanted a room with one bed, and he seemed annoyed. After another 20 minutes we were moved into a room that hadn’t been cleaned. There were dirty glasses in the sink and trash in the garbage pail. We just wanted to sleep at that point, so we accepted it. The next morning we told the lobby that we wanted the room cleaned. No one showed up to clean it, and we left the next day. The night time restaurants were ok. They were what I'd expect from an "all inclusive" hotel (I've been to a few). The breakfast buffet was horrific, to put it mildly. Overall we were both pretty disappointed at the trip.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this resort. We had read mixed reviews, so we were not sure what to expect. We stayed at the Reserve, which is the newer resort. We were not disappointed. Our room was fantastic and while this section of the resort is a little farther from the beach it is not a difficult walk and one can always take a shuttle that is easily accessible. The staff was very helpful. There were many food choices to accommodate different tastes and diets. We enjoyed live music nightly in the lobby of the original resort, which we found to be relaxing. There were plenty of places to get comfortable throughout the resort, including the private beach and pool for Reserve guests and both lobbys. We only had 4 nights and we went just for relaxation and this was the perfect location for us. Everyone's job was to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. They did it well.

The staff and grounds were very nice but the food was to be desired. The lunch offerings were minimal. The Reserve section offers a better room and a nice pool but is described differently than what it actually is. I would go back to Punta Cana but I would try another resort because I was not blown away.

Beach was spectacular and grounds beautiful with mature trees and a great variation of foliage. Food was good, Buffets were the best. But beware, our "conceirge" nagged us endlessly to sit for a 90 min consultation for a time share with the promise of a spa coupon at the end. We gave in just to shut him up and walked out after we realized it was a scam. later we met a poor couple who were duped into buying it a few years back and were extremely regretful. We never saw that coupon. Vendors and hawkers are all over the beach but a firm "no" worked. Others on the resort didn't have the experience with the conceirge, but do be wary. Again, great variety of food, many of the bartenders were great, the beaches were fantastic, but the nagging was enough to drive us insane.

Beautiful grounds, lots of food, very nice staff, and plenty of activities and entertainment!

If you want to just relax by the pool or on the beach then you could do worse than this all-inclusive. The resort has a lot of restaurants and while not great the food is decent at most. Best to stay in the Reserve - rooms are bigger and more 'plush'. Lots of families with younger children.

The hotel sold over capacity because recive one convetion of a Brazilian natural product,When arrived to the hotel change to one upgrade hotel supose but not complited for my condition of incapacity,leave one day of my vacation.When i go to select my vacation take my time to select a perfect package, this problem cause not enjoy my travel at my expertative.For next travel vacation the hotel oriented to buy direct whit the Hotel.The sugestion not help of oder form of select package.Lets my now about this problem.

The location and rooms are great but some of the restaurants need a "refreshment" in decoration. Food was great at half of the restaurants we ate at, the rest was very basic. Breakfast definitely needs to improve! We booked a scuba diving trip and they had us waiting for an hour AT 6AM! We would have appreciated some information during the wait, I don't get up that early if I don't have to.

The landscape and cleanliness was amazing, beautiful views everywhere! The staff was friendly and curteous. The AC was not working well in our original room, so they quickly moved us to a room with working AC. My only reccomendation would be more variety at breakfast, by the end of the week it was getting old. All in all it was a great week and I would gladly return.
