Ocean Blue and Sand Beach Resort- Punta Cana All Inclusive

Staff goes above and beyond. The food was fantastic, the activities, the beach, everything was great. Must go!

The Ocean Blue and Sand is an excellent hotel. We went with friends and upgraded to the priveleged plan and were extremely satisfied with everything. The rooms were great, the food deserved a 5 star rating and the staff was always friendly and helpful. There was something for everyone activity wise all the time. This was our 6th time to Punta Cana and it was the best ever and we had previously stayed in 5 star hotels. Free 5 minute massages on the beach how great is that. Two large pools and beach bars and bali beds on the beach just topped off a great vacations since we left in snow and come back to snow. Great time had by all of us. Thanks to all the staff at Ocean blue especially Jack, Henry ,Diamond and Maria who did a wonderful job on our room. The trolley was a nice touch too in case it was too hot to walk back to the room or we were too tired or too tipsy!! The shows were good too and we have seen alot of bad ones at other resorts.

Visited this resort with some friends for my birthday.. It was AWESOME!! Beautiful resort, friendly staff and great food.. Not to mention its all inclusive and they have a snack bar that served hot food all day. I have been to all inclusive resort before that only serve food at certain times..

Loved the beach and the pool. Had a terrible view from the room. The food was not very good, especially Route 66

As a group of almost 40 people travelling to Ocean Blue and Sand we had a wonderful overall vacation which included my husband and I getting married on the beach. After a bit of a rough check-in as the hotel was overbooked and they did not have one of our rooms available until the day following our arrival everything was fantastic. Pools are huge and provide lots of room for the kids to play and splash while the adults can still enjoy drinks without getting wet. Beach was great with plenty of lounge chairs even if you weren't one to get up early and mark your spot. Food was fantastic although we only ate at the buffets as not being able to make reservations at the a la carte restaurants proved to result in a long wait to get in. Overall I think I speak for our entire group that the resort was beautiful, the service terrific and the overall experience unforgettable. For anyone wishing to do a beach wedding I highly recommend Ocean Blue. I was quite nervous because there isn't a lot of communication prior to arrival about what to expect and the language is a bit of a barrier but the day after our arrival within 30 minutes we had the planning done and the event was beautiful, food and service better than I have ever experienced and the setting breathtaking. The photographer was wonderful and definitely worth the price.

While some of the staff doesn't speak a lot of english you can always find someone to help you or point you in the right direction. My room was located right off the beach,and there is a trolley like cart that will drive you from one end of the resort to the next. There are always pool activies and great dancing in the main lobby at night. I would go back and recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. Where were there as they were changing over the furnature in the room and it wasn't a disturbance at all.

When we got to the hotel at 11pm - after a very long day of flights and layovers - we were greeted very nicely... by the manager informing us that they were overbooked and that they would be putting us in a cab to another hotel - for 5 days! It was a bad start to our trip. We had specifically booked this hotel because we were a group of 22 traveling for a friends' wedding, which I was standing in. We tried to argue, but we got nowhere and ended up being transferred to another hotel, a 15 minute cab ride away. We were told that we would be nicely "compensated" by our travel agent, because it was all their fault and not the hotel error - which was a complete lie! We were on a list of at least 18 others that had been bumped that night. My husband and I spent one night in the other hotel and in the morning went down to see about getting put back at our original hotel. The staff there was super helpful and friendly, and after many phone calls and arguments on our behalf they managed to get us back to Oceans Blue on our second day, where we could meet up with all of our other friends that we were traveling with. Apart from that issue, the resort was really great. The food selection was great, there were a lot of choices for food with the buffets and all the restaurants. The steakhouse was average, so it was worth the included meal, but I wouldn't pay the extra for certain menu items. We weren't too sure about the Dominican Restaurant on the resort but that was actually one of my favorite meals! Mike's coffee bar was also really good! The rooms were very nice. The pillows and the water temperature in our shower would be my only complaints in the room. Our room faced the pool, with a nice view, but most of our friends had a view of the service road for the hotel staff. The entertainment on some evenings was average, but the entertainment staff were always very upbeat and getting everyone up and going! The staff was all very helpful and friendly, and they kept the hotel very clean. The pools were amazing, and the beach was gorgeous. The wedding on the beach was beautiful! Even though we had a really rough start to our trip, everything worked out in the end.

Traveled with a few college buddies and some family. Great resort with an awesome staff and entertainment. Beach and swim up bar by the pool all day, buffet, and a nice selection of restaurants for the evening. Great entertainment by the lobby at nighttime and also at the resort lounge/disco as well. It's a bit of drive from the airport, about 25-30 minutes, but locals outside the resort are very friendly.

The resort was teeming with teenagers and their helicopter parents. But maybe that's just that atmosphere we needed on our last spring break. We left feeling old and young, at once.

The resort is a beautiful property although compared to other trips I had taken it seemed a little inconvinent to get food and beverage. The biggest draw back had to be the staff at the resort constantly hasseling you to upgrade to privledge. But I am a person going on vacation to have a good time regardless.
