Great Family get away needed a bit more to do...
Staff were wonderful, food was very good. Room was very musty smelling! my allergies kicked in everytime I went in our room. Pool was great. Beach lovely! Bring your own cups.. they serve everything in small cups. We brought red solos perfect for an decent sized drink...ask for better pillows. Not that much to do for kids activities we found. More early night life needed...I can't keep my son up for a show that starts at 9:30. More needed from 6PM- 9PM to do. Negociate pricing for activites. We got parasailing for $25 per person and Zip line down to $55 PPdon't pay full price!

Great for the price
The overall experience at Ocean Blue was that it is wonderful. The resort is beautiful and the staff is over the top friendly. The pools were always clean and lots of fun! The beach is awesome! Very good experience. The room was nice looking but smelled musty and was not super clean. The beds were not extremely comfortable, either. We did have an absolutely wonderful time, though!!!

Great fun great resort
We had the privilege status and enjoyed those perks, although everyone had to fight for beach spots. Folks went down before 7 AM to hold spots. The food was good but the staff was what couldn't be beaten. They were awesome. The place felt very safe as well. In the evenings the lobby bar was a lot of fun, Raquel is the best!!

Great getaway from the cold
Traveled with a few college buddies and some family. Great resort with an awesome staff and entertainment. Beach and swim up bar by the pool all day, buffet, and a nice selection of restaurants for the evening. Great entertainment by the lobby at nighttime and also at the resort lounge/disco as well. It's a bit of drive from the airport, about 25-30 minutes, but locals outside the resort are very friendly.

A rough start, but a great stay in the end!
When we got to the hotel at 11pm - after a very long day of flights and layovers - we were greeted very nicely... by the manager informing us that they were overbooked and that they would be putting us in a cab to another hotel - for 5 days! It was a bad start to our trip. We had specifically booked this hotel because we were a group of 22 traveling for a friends' wedding, which I was standing in. We tried to argue, but we got nowhere and ended up being transferred to another hotel, a 15 minute cab ride away. We were told that we would be nicely "compensated" by our travel agent, because it was all their fault and not the hotel error - which was a complete lie! We were on a list of at least 18 others that had been bumped that night. My husband and I spent one night in the other hotel and in the morning went down to see about getting put back at our original hotel. The staff there was super helpful and friendly, and after many phone calls and arguments on our behalf they managed to get us back to Oceans Blue on our second day, where we could meet up with all of our other friends that we were traveling with. Apart from that issue, the resort was really great. The food selection was great, there were a lot of choices for food with the buffets and all the restaurants. The steakhouse was average, so it was worth the included meal, but I wouldn't pay the extra for certain menu items. We weren't too sure about the Dominican Restaurant on the resort but that was actually one of my favorite meals! Mike's coffee bar was also really good! The rooms were very nice. The pillows and the water temperature in our shower would be my only complaints in the room. Our room faced the pool, with a nice view, but most of our friends had a view of the service road for the hotel staff. The entertainment on some evenings was average, but the entertainment staff were always very upbeat and getting everyone up and going! The staff was all very helpful and friendly, and they kept the hotel very clean. The pools were amazing, and the beach was gorgeous. The wedding on the beach was beautiful! Even though we had a really rough start to our trip, everything worked out in the end.

1 week holiday
Disclaimer: What I say here seems to be the same on all other all inclusive hotels. It was my first all inclusive holiday which I don't plan to repeat. For what you pay you can get much, much better food and drinks outside of the hotel. About food/drinks: - Buffet was always perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nothing to complain about. - Thematic restaurants on 2 were good (Steak House and Mexican), other ones I could get better outside for 15 bucks. - Beer is good but drinks were disgusting, cheap vodka, whiskey and other stuff, if you want better drinks you needed to pay or be part of the Privilege program they don't stop offering. - Coconut watter, offered only on Saturdays at 4pm, seriously?? Coconut trees all around where you can easily get hit by a coconut falling from a tree. - Wine, I'd call that vinegar, even the waiter said, among the worse this is the best we have. But of course you could get a better one for 22 bucks (cheapest). Staff: - Always smiling, happy, helpful. Not sure if they were waiting for tips or what. But I have to say they made me fell comfortable there. - The hotel is part of the H10 group, they try to sell their holiday package all the time it's all about brainwash what could steel 3 hours from your beach/sun time. I don't by anything without searching carefully, and the BUY IT NOW or you will loose this offer doesn't work with me. Hotel: Cozy, colorful, well designed and maintained. A friend was on the expensive Riu Palace, very fancy but not as nice and cozy as the Ocean Blue. The all inclusive stuff: We spent 3 of the 7 days we stayed there on tours around DR, what means we had to pay for food and drinks outside while the hotel had no cost with us. So as I mentioned earlier, It was my first and last All Inclusive holiday. I will keep booking B&B hotels and eat somewhere where I have to pay for good food and not get the cheap food/drinks after paying. Overall it's a nice hotel and I recommend it if you don't bother with what I have commented above.

- Caribbean Adventure Tour, best day in the DR!!! Worth every cent of the 198 bucks - Stingray and shark swim, average but it was fun - Transport to go shopping, WASTE of money... don't do it as all is expensive... go and enjoy the beach and the sun instead.

Family Vacation
It was awesome! Everything was pretty good. The facilities, the food, the staff, the room, also the representative from cheaptickets was very kind. I had a great time during my stay in Punta Cana. I am already considering my next vacations and maybe it could be to the Dominican Republic again!

Family Vacation
The Hotel was great. The one problem I had was with H10 Hotels. They pressured us to buy some vacation points that cost anywhere from $9,000 on up. They said the ordeal would last less than an hour and it lasted over 2 hours. Our family was on a pleasure vacation and I did not want or need to be hassled. Due to this I will not go back. It is too bad because this place is the best place that we have ever stayed.

Fun family getaway
Hotel is nice and clean. Service is hit and miss. Reservations gets a big thumbs down for not being able to accomodate a small family reunion (7 rooms in the same building) even though we made the request 5 months in advance. The food in the buffet has a good variety, but the restaurants were not good except Brasa. The beach is wonderful. The only down side was the people who control the kayaks, windsurfers etc. They were not easy to deal with and my 20yr old son was told no he couldn't go out on more than several occasions. They also close too early at 4pm. They want you to spend money on excursions so they tell you no snorkeling on the reef that is within swimming distance. There is a roaped off swimming area and they want you to stay inside because boats pass just outside of it. This was very frustrating as we love to snorkel. There are lots of covered cabanas on the beach so no need to wake early to get one. That was a real plus. There is a lot of pressure to join their H10 club. Don't talk with a concierge when you get there. They are just trying to sell you membership. Overall a good vacation. The people are very nice and want to help.
